Maoists call for Telangana bandh today
Hyderabad: Communist Party of India (Maoist) has called for one-day bandh today to protest the ‘inept policies’ of the TRS government resulting in farmer suicides. CPI (Maoist)’s North Telangana Special Zone Committee (NTSZC) spokesperson Jagan, in a statement said that chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had claimed that Naxalites were true patriots during his election campaign and that he would implement their agenda when he comes to power.
Jagan attacked him for retreating from his words and acting contrary to his words. CPI (Maoist) alleged that KCR’s behavior was similar to that of other CMs who tried to suppress free speech. . “KCR has been making statements that the power situation would be the same for the next three years. This has resulted in depression among farmers who have been taking their lives,” the statement said. The government has to take responsibility for the suicides numbering more than 265 so far in the past few months, the statement said and requested people from all sections of society to join the bandh.

Normal life affected by Maoist bandh in Odisha
Normal life was today affected in certain areas of the district due to a 12-hour bandh called by ultras in Dandakarayan area. The bandh call was given in support of various demands by Darabha division leader Vinod Kasav in Dandakarayan area, which is spread over the three adjoining states of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. However, the impact of the bandh was felt only in eight bordering blocks, police said. Though there was no impact of the bandh in this district headquarter town, normal life was hit in Mathili and Padia blocks which formed part of Dandakarayan area, police said. Vehicular traffic remained off roads while schools and government offices and shops were closed.
As a precautionary measure, the state government had cancelled plying of government buses from various places to Malkangiri. Besides, movement of traffic to adjoining Chhatisgarh and Andhra was also affected due to digging of a road by the Maoists in Sukma district of Chhatisgarh, police added. Meanwhile, the sources said in view of the bandh police had tightened security arrangement in the district and intensified combing operations. Dandakarayana area comprises Jagadalpur, Bastar, Sukma and Dantewada of Chhattisgarh, Visakhapatnam, Khamam and Konta of Andhra Pradesh and Malkangiri, Koraput and some parts of Nabarangpur district in Odisha.

Bastar tense on eve of Dandakaranya bandh
The Bastar region of Chhattisgarh remained on the edge on Friday as intensified Maoist activity was witnessed in many districts on the eve of Maoist bandh on Saturday. The Danda Karanya Special Zonal Committee of the CPI (Maoist) has called for “Dandakaranya bandh” on November 8 against the Narendra Modi government’s “fascist policies.” Maoists torched three vehicles in the Nerli Ghati area of Dantewada district on Friday evening and opened fire on the police parties, said Bastar Range Inspector-General of Police, S.R.P. Kalluri. There was no report of casualty on any side.Two police constables were injured in Sukma district by spikes put on a road.
