Venezuela: general crisis and fury of the masses-A Nova Democracia

21a
The harsh living conditions of the masses in Venezuela are a tinderbox of popular revolt. The last few years are characterized by economic crisis in the semi-colonial and semi-feudal countries – who are called upon to pay the price of the crisis of the world imperialist system -further worsening the struggle between fractions of the big bourgeoisie for control of the state, currently under the hegemony of its bureaucratic fraction, which is for this reason assaulted by the comprador fraction unsatisfied with its subordinate position.
This struggle between factions is expressed in the form of political crisis. This, in turn, further aggravates the living situation of the broad masses, it paralyzes the whole state machine that manages the economy and public services, which the population supported with taxes it pays and which it needs and depends on to live. Of course, between the reactionary crossfire of these fractions of the bourgeoisie, those suffering are the workers, peasants and laborers in general, in addition to small and medium business owners.
ENERGY CRISIS AND FURY OF THE MASSES
In this context of crisis, the revolt of the masses gains breath. Protesting against power cuts that the Maduro regime is applying, sectors of the Venezuelan people took to the streets in a show of anger, rage and hatred of the old order that is imposed on them, ransacking shops and trucks, exercising justified violence even without the right direction or, as often happens, being manipulated by other groupings in this power struggle. It is clear and evident that the energy crisis was only the trigger: only the spark that acted on the powder keg.
Residents complained that power cuts go beyond four hours stipulated by the state, and thus, the riots spread to several cities on 27 April. In Maracaibo, Venezuela’s second largest city, protests were reported in seven of the eighteen districts, and about 72 shops were looted. In Lara state, several protests were also reported, especially what happened in the city of Barquisimeto (370 km west of Caracas), where tires were burned in protest. several demonstrations also took place in other cities like Caracas, Maracay, Valencia, Cagua, El Limón and El Castaño.
WHO DARES DEFEND OPPORTUNISM?
It is a scientific fact that opportunism in the leadership of the old state bring out all the contradictions, interests and struggles of the local ruling classes who lead and posses that state. The “Bolivarian” opportunism of Hugo Chavez as the solution for Latin America, full of brazen ideological eclecticism and corporatization of the masses, became the best possible solution for imperialism and internal reaction to divert the just revolt of the Venezuelan masses from the genuine revolutionary path to a bureaucratic path on the field of counter-revolution.
The vast Venezuelan masses, since that time (the 1990s), were thirsting for a guide which can indicate the path of uninterrupted Democratic Revolution towards Socialism, and this guide could only be and can only be the Revolutionary Proletarian Party. For lack of this guide, the masses were swept away by the bombastic speech of Chavez and his “Bolivarianism” but his own practice came to demonstrate who opportunism serves.
