CPN Maoist armed actions continue



Chand-led CPN Maoist cadres attack World Vision’s Nuwakot office
NUWAKOT: Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist cadres on Saturday night attacked the World Vision International Nepal’s Office in Nuwakot. It has been learned that a group of three persons had set a parked vehicle on fire in the premises of World Vision Office at Battar area of Bidur Municipality – 4. According to Tul Bahadur Pyakurel, a security guard of the office, three unidentified persons entered the office from the front gate and threatened him with life before setting the vehicle ablaze. While leaving the secene, the three said they were cadres of Chand-led CPN Maoist, he added. Pyakurel further said that they had threatened to kill him if he made any noise. The vehicle continued to burn for 45 minutes before the fire was taken under control with help of a fire engine, local Shiva Prasad Adhikari said.
The fire also spread to the building with people inside. The people living at second and third floors of the building were rescued by police and neighbours after an hour. The Chand-led CPN Maoist leader today claimed the responsibility for the attack. The leader, however, refused to explain the reasons behind the attack.
