Manipur Maoist boycotts Lok Sabha election
IMPHAL, March 15: Election in India is a big lie; it is to deceive the international community that India is a democratic country. This kind of election will not bring any substantial change in the life of the people. The chasm between the rich and the poor will increase even after hundreds of elections, said a statement signed by Nonglen Meitei, Secretary, Publicity and Propaganda of the proscribed, Maoist Communist Party of Manipur. The statement further said that election is a kind of carnival where burglars struggle to get power and position. It is unfortunate that people takes it seriously. There will be no change of direction as long as the driver remains the same though the vehicle may be new. Oppression and corruption will remained unchanged in the imperialist regime. The only fate for the Manipuries in India is that of a handmaiden servant.
There is no political future for Manipur in India. A Manipuri becoming an Indian Prime Minister is just impossible. Denouncing the election, the statement declared that the party will boycott the upcoming Indian Parliamentary election. The party therefore appealed the people of Manipur to boycott the said election. The party will not be responsible for any untoward incident. The statement has specifically mentioned that all-out effort will be made from the party to boycott the election. On the other hand, the party warns any individual or group who are using the name of the party for monetary demands through phone calls. To check such practices the party will halt monetary demands from the public.
