Latehar: Communist Party of India(Maoist) called for a shutdown on
Saturday in Jharkhand and Bihar in protest against the death of
CPI(Maoist) cadres who had been gunned down during an encounter in
Hazaribagh District recently. The shutdown had an impact in the Latehar
District of Jharkhand, where no public transport or heavy vehicles were
seen plying on the National Highway (NH) 75 and NH 99. The security
operation by the CRPF was conducted in the jungles outside Bukar
Village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Chauparan police
station.
