Maoist Link: Bail Pleas Dumped
KOCHI:The Ernakulam District and Principal Sessions Court has
dismissed the bail petition of two persons arrested for allegedly having
Maoist connection, on Tuesday. The court dismissed the bail petitions
of Tushar Nirmal Sarathi a human rights activist and Jayson C Cooper, a
government employee. Dismissing the bail petition, S Mohandas, Judge,
Ernakulam District and Principal Sessions Court, stated that since the
investigation of the case is in its preliminary stage, bail cannot be
granted now. The court said it cannot consider the submission that the
arrested persons have not committed any crime so that case can be
registered against them.
