India -Maoists condemn nun rape, human trafficking in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR: Communist Party of India (Maoist) have exhorted human rights organizations to join protests against the incident of rape of a nun in Raipur and increasing incidents of human trafficking from the tribal areas of the state. In a statement circulated to the media, CPI (Maoist) spokesman Gudsa Usendi said his organization strongly condemned the rape of a nun in the state capital and attempts to cover up the case. The rebels alleged that incidents of attacks on minorities and forced conversions were on rise under the BJP rule at the centre and the state. CPI (Maoist) said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been attacking UPA government for increasing atrocities on women, is silent over these incidents. Referring to incidents of human trafficking, Usendi appealed to all progressive organisations to join together to fight and prevent trafficking and exploitation in the tribal areas.
