October 7: Long live the Palestinian Resistance!
First of all, we fully support the demonstrations of 7 October that were held in support of the Palestinian resistance, in particular we welcome the demonstrations in Bologna and Turin which were banned by the government in a completely illegitimate way, indeed, for the one in Turin the ban is not justified because no notice was sent to the police headquarters of this demonstration.
On the other hand, as our comrades, our workers and those who follow our sources of information know, they know well that the Slai Cobas for the class union had proposed a one-hour general strike of workers at the beginning of September on the occasion of October 7th. This is because it was entirely legitimate to combine the denunciation of the genocide and the deportation plan, carried out by the Zionist State of Israel with the support of American imperialism and the complicity of all imperialist states and governments in the world, including Italy, with the support of the Palestinian resistance, "hope of the hopeless". The Palestinian people recognizes itself in the resistance, it produced it, and therefore attacking the Palestinian resistance is attacking the Palestinian people, it means being in favour of the plans of genocide, deportation, cancellation of the State of the Palestinian people carried out by the Zionist regime and its allies.
October 7 is a historic date of Palestinian resistance and anyone who wants to support the Palestinian people and their resistance can only support October 7, which is why we totally share the support and support the demonstrations that were held in some cities, breaking the prohibitions of the Police Headquarters.
On the other hand, on October 5 last year the national demonstration in Rome was banned for the same reasons that now the demonstrations in Bologna and Turin in particular and any other demonstration of this type have been banned. And even then it was necessary to reject the ban on this combative demonstration organized by most of the Palestinian organisations and by all the solidarity and consistent forces, which reached Rome despite the bans, the bus blockades, the individual and collective persecutions, the fact that even to enter the square of the demonstration one had to be identified, searched. Yet that demonstration was imposed, succeeded and was done and demonstrated that the bans could not stop solidarity with the Palestinian people and least of all the idea that October 5 could not be accepted, imposing the reasons of the Israeli Zionist regime and imperialism.
Even in that demonstration a part of the demonstrators rightly developed an activity that broke the ban on the march, with the consequent illegitimate police charges. On that occasion too, we took the side of reason and the right to demonstrate, of the freedoms enshrined in our country by the Constitution; freedoms repeatedly attacked and violated - such as the right to strike itself - by the capitalist, imperialist regimes, with this government in the front row, which is the most radical form of these capitalist regimes today.
October 7 is the heritage of the resistance. Long live October 7, long live the Palestinian resistance! These are two things that must be linked because it was right to rebel against the occupation and the massacres that the Zionist regime was perpetrating against the Palestinian people and that certainly harboured the genocidal plan of deportation. It was already in the program of Netanyahu, and in particular of some parties of Netanyahu's government, the plan to expel the Palestinians, destroy the people, erase homes and lands and annex the entire Gaza Strip and the West Bank in a framework of "Greater Israel". It is against this plan that already existed that the Palestinian people rebelled through its resistance with a heroic action first of all, because attacking the Israeli military giant under the given conditions is a heroic action, and precisely for this reason the fighters of October 7 are still considered heroes by the Palestinian people and all those who support the Palestinian people can only share this assessment.
The resistance had to raise its head, it had to bring to the attention of the world its historical
claims in the face of the absolute injustice on which the state of Israel was built, which has established itself as the gendarme of imperialism and oppressor of the Palestinian people.Any equivalence between the Palestinian resistance and the deployed imperialist terror, the Zionist terror, the Zionist barbarism perpetuated in the months following October 7 and in all these two years, is wrong, indeed, it is a real distortion of reality and historical facts.
These two years have shown it: the only real terrorism is the bombs and the plans of Zionism and imperialism.
Having said this, it is clear that October 7 must be deepened above all by the Palestinian people who, with that action, wanted to affirm and highlight the true nature of the contradiction existing in the Middle East of which the Palestinian people are the main victims. It was necessary to unmask Israel, to unmask the plans and the nature of this state which, far from being a legitimate state, is an illegitimate state in the way it was born, in the way it was built always and only through real terror, with which the Palestinian populations were expelled from day one and which today is seen all too clearly in the genocidal plan as well as in the daily and systematic action of the murderous settlers, of Fascist Nazi type, against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.
It was necessary to dismantle the idea of Israel as a "legitimate state", the image of Israel as heir to the Holocaust and therefore legitimized and protected; it was necessary to unmask the idea of using anti-Semitism to justify this illegitimate, genocidal, massacrous state, which always acts in violation of every UN deliberation, of international law.
Returning to the demonstration of October 4, any idea must be rejected – for example using the question of the clashes that took place marginally to the great demonstration of a million people, a people marching, a large gigantic demonstration supported by the practice of hundreds and hundreds of demonstrations on the territories with blockades and with initiatives aimed at hitting Israel's supporters and first of all our government and its infamous position complicit in the genocide - that this demonstration was different from the demonstrations of 7 October. Of course, the demonstrations of October 7 were organized on October 7, but on October 4 the great demonstration in Rome was in any case largely in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance, and it cannot be considered otherwise; it would mean to deform it, to instrumentalize it according to ideas that want to overlap the rising tide of solidarity expressed in this grandiose demonstration.
Today the resistance is strategically and historically stronger, it has asserted its legitimacy and has given strength to the claim of a free Palestine from the river to the sea, dismantling the imperialist and Zionist narrative that considered all this a closed chapter; closed with an endless chain of massacres, repression, destruction and occupation of the territories that have characterized the long reactionary and barbaric epic of the last 75 years.
Having said this, the action of October 7 is not a point of arrival, it is not yet and nor could it be the victory of the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people, it is a stage of this, a stage that the Palestinian people is paying for with a load of death and destruction that no one objectively could imagine of this size: 67 thousand confirmed deaths, at least hundreds of thousands are missing, hundreds of thousands wounded are disabled, including many women and children, in a scenario that is even greater than those we saw during the First and Second World Wars.
Certainly no one hoped for this and least of all expected it. But this is happening not for unnatural reasons but for natural reasons, because the reactionary march that the crisis of imperialism has set in motion, which leads to a third world war of partition/robbery and which walks through the destruction of the liberation struggles of the peoples and of course of the proletarian struggles of an antagonistic and revolutionary nature in the Western countries, this plan evidently produced policies and men who interpreted it, from the Trump presidency to the affirmation of the most openly and avowedly Zionist force of the population living in Israel.
All this can less than ever go so far as to criticize the action of the resistance and its legitimacy and representation of the people, on the contrary, it shows us that striking the State of Israel, unmasking it, highlighting its true nature was and is a historical necessity that serves as a presupposition, as well as a first step, to affirm the historical necessity of the cancellation of the Zionist State, of its laws and institutions, because they are in contrast not only with the interests of peoples and humanity but are even in contrast with the very international laws existing within the limits of the social systems existing today.
The demonstration on Saturday, October 4 calls for the mobilization against genocide, against the persecutions of the Flotilla, against the deportation plans, against the pseudo-peace plans that imperialism and Zionism are carrying out with more strength and continuity in order to obtain with peace what they have already achieved with the war and to consolidate and armour the plan of genocide and deportation through a plan that in any case provides for the will to cancel the resistance, to build a people caged and imprisoned in a regime of apartheid, discrimination and always under the cleaver of extermination and deportation.
In this sense, the resistance must not only be remembered and celebrated on this symbolic date of its last phase, but must be even more supported, because the idea that the people without resistance can affirm their legitimate rights and can protect themselves from the plan of genocide and deportation is an illusory idea that must be dismantled.
October 7 is also a fundamental date for us, a new beginning, we think, historically of the march that through a people's war can really lead the Palestinian people to victory, to a free Palestine from the river to the sea, an outpost of the world that must change, that must put an end to imperialism on a world scale, to capitalism and to all the barbarism that imperialism is giving us: war, oppression, repression, racism, fascism.
