Comrade Pratap’s martyrdom will be inscribed in Letters of Gold and carve a permanent niche in the annals of history of liberation struggle

The Maoist revolutionary movement on January 21st faced a grievous loss in the Ramagudem encounter, with the succumbing of Chalapathi or Pratap ,a central committee member of the CPI(Maoist). The annihilation of Chalpati with 15 other members has given a crippling blow to the Maoist Movement.

He had been inducted as an alternate member of the Central Committee in 2007 Congress. After that, he arrived at a self-assessment that he would need more time to carry out those tasks and voluntarily withdrew from the Central Committee membership (what an ideal communist characteristic of disregarding positions and ego) and in the following period he became a member of the Central Committee again.

Chalapati was without doubt one of the best sons of our land who carved a permanent niche amongst the soldiers for liberation. His relentless spirit of self-sacrifice to wave the banner of revolutionary liberation, overcoming the most daunting obstacles, was reminiscent of a ship withstanding the most turbulent seas, and he heroically resurrected the party from grave setbacks, in various junctures.

Chalapati’s tenacity and craft to defy merciless repression resurrected the spirit of the legacy of the Communist Movement. Till his last breath Chalapati was crusader of people’s liberation and shimmered the torch of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism.

Chalapati was one of the architects of the heroic armed resistance of the CPI(Maoist) in Bastar and in shaping path of protracted people’s war. With untold mastery he fortified the party forces His transition or blooming from the embryonic stage into a full-fledged party revolutionary and the manner he withstood the darkest waters comprise an epic.

Chalapathi was a man of many talents: an ace military strategist, a good mobiliser, and adept at executing plans. Known for his intellectual prowess and expertise in guerrilla warfare, Chalapathi played a pivotal role in strategizing and orchestrating several high-profile attacks.

Chalapathi was in charge of fortifying strongholds in the border between AP, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. He mobilised tribals by highlighting issues of displacement and exploitation by mining corporations.

His transition or blooming from the embryonic stage into a full-fledged party revolutionary and the manner he withstood the darkest waters comprise an epic.
