here we report the English translation of the Italian stand published in Proletari Comunisti the maoist Communist Party of Italy website:
In recent years,
inter-imperialist contradictions have intensified, consequently of the
deepening of the long economic crisis of overproduction since 2008,
imperialist countries are seeking greater margins of superprofit both in
semi-colonies and by intensifying the exploitation of their own working
classes.
The sharpening of these contradictions indicates that the tendency
toward a new imperialist world war is strengthening. The formation of
imperialist blocs, with European and Western countries led by US
imperialism on one side and Russia and China on the other, is a clear
symptom of this.
The inter-imperialist conflict in Ukraine, the aggression against the Palestinian people and the peoples of the Middle East by US imperialism and the Zionist state, a veritable appendage of imperialism, the military siege of Venezuela, the "Taiwan crisis," and so on, are among the most significant, but not the only, fault lines opened by inter-imperialist contradictions that could erupt into world war.
As Chairman Mao stated: either the revolutionary war stops the imperialist war, or the world war will lay the foundation for a new wave of the World Proletarian Revolution.
The world imperialist system, in its development, or in the development of its own contradictions, faces obstacles in the form of revolutionary movements and the national liberation struggles of oppressed peoples. These are the two aspects of the World Proletarian Revolution opposed to imperialism.
Today, the World Proletarian Revolution is in the strategic defensive phase: the absence of socialist countries, a weak working class movement in imperialist and oppressed countries, weakness of national liberation struggles, temporarily defeated popular wars in some countries, and the Indian and the Philippinos ones still in the strategic defensive phase.
In this context, the heroic Palestinian Resistance on October 7, 2023,
dealt a deadly blow to Zionist colonialism, not only "awakening" the
forces of the axis of resistance in the region and posing serious
difficulties for the occupier in Palestine, but also stimulating
solidarity movements in imperialist countries, thus sharpening the
contradiction between the people and the ruling class in those
countries.
The Palestinian Resistance, represented by the Unified Resistance
Command (which includes Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the
Liberation of Palestine, and nine other organizations), with its
combativeness and spirit of sacrifice in pursuing the just cause of its
people's right to self-determination, has instilled hope and optimism in
proletarians and oppressed peoples around the world.
Thousands of kilometers away, in India, in this vast state within whose borders dozens of peoples live, the current Modi regime seeks to crush this multiplicity with repressive and fascist methods, reducing it to a single Hindu identity. The only alternative to this plan is the people's war led by the Communist Party of India (Maoist), which is of strategic importance for the global proletarian revolution.
Indeed, not only is India the most populous country in the world, but
it also represents a bastion of Yankee imperialism in South Asia, both
in its anti-Chinese function and as an American gendarme in the
oppression of the peoples of that region, starting with those living
within its own borders and those of neighboring peoples. The CPI
(Maoist) has taken on the revolutionary task of waging a people's war
against a state characterized by class contradictions linked to the
caste question, contradictions of national oppression, and the presence
of tribal populations, the Adivasis, considered second-class citizens by
the government.
In particular, at the turn of the century, the party's impetus led to the development of janathana sarkars,
popular governments in which land was redistributed to peasants, in
vast areas of the country. It was driven to eliminate caste and women
discrimination. Various popular self-governments were thus developing in
the revolutionary zones collectively known as the Revolutionary Compact
Zone, where tens of millions of people lived.
The Palestinian resistance and the People's War in India represent two beacons of the world proletarian revolution and the liberation of the world's peoples. It is no coincidence that the CPI (Maoist) greeted the Al-Aqsa Flood operation with concrete solidarity, organizing demonstrations in its areas of influence and issuing communiques and propaganda materials such as posters.
The links between the different revolutionary struggles and the liberation of peoples is not merely idealistic, but rather genuine material and strategic ties because they fight against the same enemy: imperialism as a global system, even if in specific contexts it is embodied by different regimes and governments but serving the same interests.
In this sense, the struggle of the Palestinian people and that of the revolutionaries and peoples in India are more intertwined than they seem.
In fact, the Zionist regime and the Indian bureaucratic-comprador
bourgeoisie (and in particular Modi's current Hindutva regime) have
established a strategic alliance in recent years.
The ties are not only political, economic, and military, but also have a
solid ideological basis, with various points of contact between Zionist
and Hindutva ideologies (as well explained in the work of Amrit
Wilson).
Both ideologies, which developed in colonial/semi-colonial and
semi-feudal societies, are based on the dispossession of peoples' lands:
just as Zionism theorizes the occupation of an entire nation,
Palestine, the Hindutva regime accelerated what had been initiated by
British imperialism and then by the Indian regime since its formal
independence: the dispossession of non-Hindu peoples within India's
borders, particularly the Adivasis, for the benefit of the comprador
bourgeoisie and the large corporations and multinationals of the
imperialist countries.
Both ideologies theorize the superiority of a social/religious group
that dominates society in the service of the dominant system of
production. Therefore, both ideologies are tools for imperialist
domination in the Middle East and South Asia while oppressing the
peoples of those regions.
As a corollary, both the Zionist and Hindutva regimes use genocide as an
instrument of war against the Palestinians and the Adivasis,
respectively.
All this materializes in a solid strategic political, economic, and military partnership, as reported by the Indian Marxist-Leninist-Maoist magazine Nazariya:
India's support towards Israel stems from its lackey postion to US Imperialism as well as the active
role Israel plays in assisting India in its own suppression of national liberation and class struggle. India has imported the biggest volume of arms in the world since 1950s, of which Israel and United States are the biggest suppliers. “India is now Israel's #1 customer and spends heavily on drones, missile systems, sensors, radar, and electro-optic systems. These sales are mutually benecial, providing India with high-tech weapons and Israel with cash….. Since 2001, at least eight defense chiefs from Israel and India have visited the other country. The 'national security apparatuses brainstorm together on internal security…' and even have a 'Joint Wo r k i n g G ro u p o n C o u n t e r - Terrorism' that was established in 2002. The Indian Navy regularly conducts port visits to the Israeli c i t y o f H a i f a a n d h a s e v e n conducted 'passage exercises' with the Israeli Navy; ‘Centers of Excellence' in various Indian states w h e r e t h e l a t e s t I s r a e l i horticultural technologies are on display. Israel also advises India on management and recycling a n d h a s s i g n e d a Te c h n i c a l Cooperation Agreement with India for wastewater management. Israel will be setting up two 'Agri Centres of Excellence' in Kashmir. This will mark the rst direct presence of
Israel on the ground in Kashmir, besides the guns, Israel has also parlayed its growing arms trade with India into other sectors.” India has purchased Israel's highly marketed Iron Dome technology, the Pegasus surveillance tool which it has used to target Bhima Koregaon-16 political prisoners and even drones to conduct aerial bombings. (Nazariya N.3)
The partnership between Israel's Elbit Systems and India's Adani Group in 2018 to produce Hermes 900 drones, which have been dropped onto civilians in Gaza, further underscores the military collaboration between the two countries. Good relations between India-Israel also benefit USA, which is known to have propped the settler-colonial “Israel” to act as its proxy in the Middle East (Nazariya N.4).
After "Operation al-Aqsa Flood" and the subsequent emigration of some Zionist settlers abroad, India sent Indian labor to the Zionist state to fill this gap.
As two oppressive and genocidal regimes develop in these two strategic geographic areas for imperialism, it is necessary to practice proletarian internationalism more consistently; this is becoming an increasingly urgent necessity.
In recent months, the Indian revolution has been experiencing a difficult situation due to the intensification of the repressive military operation Kagaar carried out by the Modi regime, culminating in the assassination of the party's general secretary, Comrade Basavaraj, along with 26 other comrades last May. This was compounded by the assassination of dozens of revolutionaries and the ideological collapse and subsequent betrayal by a group of former comrades who handed over their weapons. Despite this, the CPI (Maoist) continues to resist and has announced that the only way forward is a people's war for the revolution of new democracy and socialism (read the document here).
At the same time, the Palestinian Resistance, despite having inflicted heavy losses on the enemy and, above all, prompted an international solidarity movement that isolated the Zionist state internationally, had to sign a tactical ceasefire necessary to reorganize. At the same time, Zionist imperialism and colonialism remain on the offensive, aiming to occupy Gaza, while settler attacks against Palestinians are intensifying in the West Bank.
While the mobilization in support of Palestine was underway, the international committee we are part, the ICSPWI, launched several campaigns this year in support of the people's war in India, but in conjunction with support for the Palestinian resistance. This intertwining, particularly in the international campaigns of last April and last July, increasingly materialized in the squares of Italy and Brazil, but also episodically in Paris last June during the last major demonstration that preceded the release of George Ibrahim Abdallah, and in Tunis last April on the occasion of the global general strike called by the Palestinian resistance to express solidarity with their struggle and to denounce the ongoing genocide.
During these campaigns, the Palestinian organization Palestinian Democratic Youth Union (PDYU) expressed solidarity with the Adivasis and the people's war in India with these words:
Our struggle in
Palestine against occupation and erasure is deeply connected to the
struggle of the Adivasi people to protect their land, culture, and way
of life. Whether in Gaza or in the forests of India, entire populations
are criminalized simply for resisting domination and exploitation.
We call on youth, students, and progressive forces around the world to
raise their voices against these genocides, to stand in solidarity with
the Adivasis, and to demand an immediate end to Operation Kagar. At the
same time, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the Palestinian
cause and the liberation of all oppressed peoples struggling for justice
and dignity.
From Gaza to Bastar, from Dheisheh to Dantewada – solidarity is our weapon.
The last two issues of
People's March, the magazine of the Italian Communist Party (Maoist),
published last January and last May, respectively, contain articles
dedicated to Palestine.
The article published last January begins with the following:
Communist revolutionaries across the world are celebrating the first year anniversary of the heroic "Al Aqsa Flood operation". Since that the world has never been the same. [...] Today the Palestine liberation struggle after a long period of hibernation and isolation from the world has once again became the center point of world politics.
While at the end of the article published last May it is stated: "Now the liberation struggle and the support have to be doubled, encriched and expanded to make a larger struggle, toghether with the working class of the world against the world imperialist system".
The peoples struggling in Palestine and India know well that their enemy is the same. We embrace these words and reiterate the call for a sustained campaign in support of the CPI (Maoist) and the People's War in India against Operation Kagaar and the Modi regime's goal of "eradicating Maoism by March 2026." At the same time, we continue to support the Palestinian resistance during this period in which Zionist and imperialist aggression has not stopped!
The time is now, in every country, in every city!
