CMPAfghanistan -16 January 23 - International Memorial Day - for comrade Jose Maria Sison - Ka Joma

To the Communist Party of the Philippines!

Dear Comrades,

We were informed and affected by the passing away of the great communist thinker, knowledgeable leader, teacher, and guide of the Philippine proletariat and torch bearer of the international communist movement, Comrade Jose Maria Sison, better known as “Ka Joma,” in the Philippines.

The date of January 16, 2023, based on the call of the comrades of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), will be set all over the world in commemoration of the meritorious and valuable services of Comrade Joma and his valuable contributions to the world revolution and in the service of the international communist movement. We considered ourselves obliged to join this call while expressing our deep sorrow and impression for this great losing of Comrade Sison and commemorate the date of January 16, 2023 to remember this internationalist comrade.

Comrade José María Sison (Joma), who was born on February 8, 1939, died at the age of 83 on December 16, 2022, in the Utrecht hospital in the Netherlands where he was in forced exile from his country, and can be said certainty that we have lost one of the great Marxist-Leninist-Maoist thinker and leaders of our time.

Comrade Joma was the one who led the oppressed masses of the Philippines for national freedom and democracy to establish a new democratic system in his country. He, by learning from his country's tumultuous history and in opposition to the “Lava” revisionist group, a group that tied itself to the revisionists of the Soviet Union, founded the Communist Party of the Philippines on December 26, 1968. About three months after On March 29, 1969, founded the New People's Army for armed struggles in the Philippines under the leadership of the Communist Party of the Philippines to establish a new democratic revolution in its country, and by relying on the slogan (Party - People's Army - United National Front) could found and led the National Democratic Front of the Philippines in 1973.

Although the People's War started with 500 members in the Philippines, but it soon grew and spread to all areas of the country. The spread of the People's War in the Philippines shook the fascist government of “Ferdinand Marcos” and led to the arrest of Comrade Sison in 1977. 9 years of torture and solitary confinement for Comrade Sison marked a difficult time for the Communist Party of the Philippines until he was finally released in 1986 after the overthrow of the Marcos dictatorial government. In 1988, by the fascist government of the Philippines, his passport was canceled, and Comrade Sison was exiled from his country, and Comrade Sison faced asylum in the Netherlands, and from 1992 onwards, he was recognized as a political refugee by the Dutch Council of State, who spent more than thirty years in exile.

In 2001, Comrade Joma founded the “International People's Struggle Union” to coordinate and support the democratic and anti-imperialist struggles of the peoples of the world. In 2020, he detachment from the position of the head of this union, but his ideological leadership remained on the body of that organization.

Comrade Joma led and directed the international associations to advance the world socialist revolution. He lived only for the revolution until his death. His rich contributions and glorious theoretical legacy to advance the revolution and people's war in the Philippines stand.

The Second Congress of the Communist Party of the Philippines, which was held in 2016, honored Comrade Ka Joma as a “great communist thinker, leader, teacher and guide of the Filipino proletariat and torch-bearer of the international communist movement” and emphasized the greatness of his services to the Philippine revolution and the global working-class movement.

C(M)PA sends the Maoist red greeting to Comrade Jose Maria Sison (Ka Joma) and joins the international call of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and honors the date of January 16, 2023, for the founder of that party (Communist Party of the Philippines) and will take more committed steps than before to move forward and raise the red flag of the revolution in the suffocating conditions of Afghanistan.

By learning from the experiences of the leaders of the proletariat and a specific analysis of the specific situation of the society, we will not hesitate to make any sacrifices to advance in the path of raising the People's national resistance and revolutionary war, the current specific form of the people's war in the country, and to overthrow the fundamentalist and petrified pan-Islamist system of Taliban in Afghanistan and establish a new democratic revolution and progress towards socialism.

Maoist Red greetings to Comrade Jose Maria Sison (Ka Joma)!

Long live international solidarity!

Long live Marxism-Leninism-Maoism!

CC - Communist (Maoist) Party of Afghanistan
