Guerre Israël-Hamas : comment l'Inde est devenue l'un des principaux soutiens de Netanhayu
Depuis l'attaque du Hamas en Israël le 7 octobre, les contenus antipalestiniens pullulent sur les réseaux sociaux indiens. Une stratégie orchestrée par les nationalistes hindous au pouvoir, qui considèrent la minorité musulmane comme un ennemi de l'intérieur.
Il y a actuellement deux sujets qui agitent les réseaux sociaux en Inde : la Coupe du monde de cricket et la guerre entre Israël et le Hamas. Mais c'est surtout ce deuxième événement qui a attiré l'attention du service de fact-checking indien Boom. Ces dernières semaines, des dizaines de photos et de vidéos détournées de leur contexte d'origine auraient été partagées dans le cadre d'une campagne de désinformation ayant pour objectif de dénigrer le camp palestinien, rapporte Al-Jazira.
Mi-octobre, une analyse de tendances sur X (ex-Twitter) montrait qu'une large majorité des messages partagés avec les hashtags #IsraelUnderAttack ou #IStandWithIsrael venaient d'Inde. Ce qui n'a pas manqué d'étonner certains universitaires : "La dimension que ça a pris sur les réseaux sociaux en Inde est un peu surprenante puisque, d'habitude, ce sont plutôt des phénomènes de politique interne qui font parler. C'est moins étonnant quand on parle des nationalistes hindous qui s'intéressent de près à la situation au Proche-Orient et aux méthodes antiterroristes d'Israël", analyse Nicolas Blarel, professeur de relations internationales à l'université de Leyde et auteur de "The Evolution of India’s Israel Policy", paru en 2015.

Si Narendra Modi s'est contenté sur X d'affirmer son soutien à Israël, sa formation, le Parti indien du peuple (Bharatiya Janata Party, BJP), a tout de suite établi un lien entre l'attaque du Hamas et les attentats islamistes perpétrés sur le sol indien, notamment ceux de Bombay en 2008 qui avaient fait plus de 160 morts.au pouvoir depuis 2014, le parti nationaliste hindou considère partager les mêmes problématiques sécuritaires que le pouvoir israélien. "Ils estiment tous les deux qu'ils sont envahis par les musulmans et qu'ils doivent lutter contre un terrorisme transfrontalier. En Inde, le [groupe islamiste] Lashkar-e-Taiba, qui attaque depuis le Pakistan, est comparé au Hamas", décrypte Nicolas Blarel.Si, avec 180 millions de pratiquants, les musulmans ne représentent que 15 % de la population indienne, ils sont considérés par la majorité hindoue (80 %) comme des ennemis de l'intérieur, et sont fréquemment victimes de violences, tout comme les chrétiens.
Premier marché d'équipement militaire d'Israël
Désormais Premier ministre, le dirigeant nationaliste a fait de l'Inde l'un des plus gros alliés d'Israël, derrière les États-Unis. "Modi s'est toujours présenté comme un grand ami d'Israël", confirme Nicolas Blarel. Le 14 janvier 2018, pour la première fois en 15 ans, le chef du gouvernement israélien Benjamin Netanyahu s'était rendu en Inde. "Nous sommes à l’aube d’une nouvelle ère dans la formidable amitié entre l’Inde et Israël", avait alors déclaré le patron du Likoud.
Six mois plus tôt, c'est le Premier ministre indien Narendra Modi – élu en 2014 – qui avait effectué une visite de trois jours en Israël pour la première fois de l’Histoire, afin de célébrer le 25e anniversaire de l’établissement des relations diplomatiques entre les deux pays.
Depuis une dizaine d'années, les deux alliés multiplient les échanges économiques. Le commerce bilatéral a été multiplié par deux en cinq ans, pour atteindre 10,7 milliards de dollars en 2022. Principaux secteurs concernés : l’agriculture, l’informatique, la santé... et surtout la défense. En 2021, l'Inde représentait le premier marché d'exportations militaires israéliennes avec 8,3 milliards de dollars. Parmi les équipements de pointe achetés, le fameux système de défense antimissile Barak-8 développé par Israel Aerospace Industries.
L'Inde n'a pourtant pas toujours été une alliée d'Israël. En 1967 et 1973, durant les deux guerres israélo-arabes, l’Inde a soutenu le camp arabe, avant de devenir en 1975 le premier pays non arabe à autoriser l’Organisation de libération de la Palestine (OLP) à ouvrir un bureau sur son territoire. Mais cette ligne change à partir des années 1990. L'Inde normalise ses relations diplomatiques avec Israël en 1992. Six ans plus tard, quand l'Inde est visée par des sanctions économiques pour ses essais nucléaires, Israël est l'un des rares pays à poursuivre ses échanges. "Depuis cette époque, Israël est considéré comme un fournisseur fiable, par rapport aux États-Unis ou à la Russie", conclut le chercheur Nicolas Blare

The CC of the CPI (Maoist) hails the 7fh October's unprecedented rocket attacks on Israel by
HAMAS, the inevitable result of the Israel's occupation of Palestine and aspirations of Palestine people for
their Iiberation.
In the pretense of HAMAS's attack, Notorious Israel Defense Forces (IDF) seized Gaza from all sides
and cut down food, electricity, fuel and even medicine supplies resulting into a severe humanitarian crisis.
Continuous aerial attacks are being carried out on Gaza since 7th October in which thousands of people
have been killed and many more thousands maimed. A million people were already driven from their
homes. As per the reports coming out, Israel is planning for an ever big offensive on Palestine people. Our
party severely condemns and demands to stop the brutal aerial attacks on Gaza since Iast three days by
Israel, the puppet settler state and an outpost of US Imperialism in Middle East.
The US imperialism not only condemned the HAMAS's attack as terrorist one, on 7fh October itself
but also immediately announced military aid and within no time started sending weapons, other military
equipment to Israel, its vicious attack dog. US, UK, Germany and Italy came out with a joint statement in
support of Israel. This heinous act of imperialists must be condemned from every possible corner of the
world.
Indian Prime Minister Modi following his Imperialist Masters especially US, shamelessly expressed
solidarity towards Israel. We oppose strongly the Modi's brahmanical hindutva fascist Indian Government's pro-Israel attitude.
Our Party opines that the US Imperialism and Zionist Israel state are responsible for the present
unjust war by Israel and just resistance by HAMAS which resulting in the loss of lives of people on both
sides but heavy casualties to Palestinian people and destruction. Israel should immediately stop attacks on
Gaza and get the hostages released safely by HAMAS.
It's well known to the world that the state of Israel was settled by Imperialists especially by US and
UK to serve their interests in 1948 in the pretext of establishing a homeland for Jews in Palestine. This is
also
recognized by UN (United Nations Organization) also which is under
control of US and its allies. Since then there was no real peace for
Palestinians. Israel is engaged in wars with Arabs and continuously
occupying Palestine territories till now. Palestinians have been waging struggle with Israelis since then for
their liberation under different banners and leadership forces right from the representatives of Ieft to
lslamic forces, feudal forces and national bourgeoisie. They suffered setbacks, Ieadership betrayals, but
picked themselves up, then fighting again.
It's crystal clear that genuine justice and peace for Palestinians will be possible only when the state
of Israel is destroyed and the one and only country Palestine, the democratic secular Palestine is
established where all the Palestinian people including Jews could Iive together with equal rights and enjoy
true Iiberation. As Israel is the key outpost of US imperialism in the Middle East and doesn't represent
"home for the Jews", this will not be possible until imperialism has been overthrown.
For
this, revolutionary masses of Palestine have to wage protracted
peoples' war under the leadership of its vanguard of working class
guided by the science of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism. Though it seems to be
unrealistic today, in the era of imperialism and proletarian revolution, a day will come when the Palestine
people's struggle for liberation will surely achieve this goal.
Our Party reaffirms the unwavering support to the just cause of Palestine peoples' Iiberation
movement.
Our CC calls upon all the Marxist-Leninist-Maoist Parties, Left forces, democratic and
progressive
organizations and people, Oppressed nationalities all over the world to
stand firm in support of Palestine peoples' Iiberation movement.
Our CC also calls on the above all to unite and defeat Imperialism and all its Iackeys so that all the oppression and exploitation can be uprooted and the goal of establishing Socialism-Communism can be achieved.
