Protest Committee Against Genocide in India on Maoists and Adivasi

 Bangladesh” Formed, Demanding Immediate Halt of Operation Kagar

Under the brutal military campaign “Operation Kagar,” launched by the Hindutva-fascist Modi government in India, Maoist political leaders and activists, along with ordinary Adivasis, are being systematically killed. Since January 2024, this military operation has claimed the lives of more than 400 Maoist activists and ordinary Adivasi people. India’s Home Minister Amit Shah has declared the aim to make India “Maoist-free” by 31 March 2026. This ongoing massacre is part of that agenda.

Under Maoist leadership, a movement emerged to protect the water, land, and forests of the Adivasis. To crush this just movement, to evict Adivasis from their ancestral lands, and to serve the interests of multinational corporate entities aligned with imperialism, the government is continuing one military operation after another. On 21 May, 28 people including Comrade Basavaraj, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), were killed. Even after that, more senior Maoist leaders have been and are being targeted and killed.

From Bangladesh, we demand an immediate end to this military operation “Operation Kagar” being carried out by the fascist Modi regime. To this end, on 4 July 2025, we the progressive, democratic, and revolutionary forces of the country have unitedly formed a committee titled “Protest Committee Against Genocide in India on Maoist and Adivasi, Bangladesh”, appointing Hasan Fakri, President of the Shaheed Biplobi O Deshpremik Smriti Sangsad, as the convenor of the committee. We believe that only the united resistance of the oppressed people of India and the world can stop this Hindutva fascism.

In protest against the killing of CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Comrade Basavaraj and all other Maoist and Adivasi people, and demanding an immediate halt to Operation Kagar, this committee will organize a protest gathering on 18 July, along with poster and leaflet campaigns.
