Against
the imperialist aggression on Syria
An attack on Syria is
being prepared by US imperialism, together with the British and
French imperialists. An intervention that surely relies on the
participation of Saudi Arabia and also the political and logistical
support of Turkey and Israel.
But Syria is not Libya
nor, at this juncture, Iraq.
It is impossible to
imagine that Iran will not be involved and the position of China and
Russia prevents the intervention from having the cover of UN.
So it is an unilateral
imperialist aggression that continues military intervention carried
out by the so-called “opposition”, that is purely a subsidiary of
the imperialist powers.
The attack on Syria can
create ripple effects and really ignite the prairie in the Middle
East and the whole world.
Obama, like Reagan and
Bush, uses the same script to invent and amplify "evidences"
as a fig leaf for an intervention already decided, that comes from
far away and has always the same object: oil and the the geopolitical
and geostrategic control on the area.
PCm Italy condemns and
develops the maximum opposition to imperialist aggression of Syria
and gives its support for the Syrian and Arab masses who are
opposing.
We will develop
independently our efforts, because we do not share any kind of
support for the Assad's regime, and certainly not because it may have
used chemical weapons – that is probably false and mounted, while
it is sure that the so-called "rebels" have already done
so, like Saddam did against the Kurds – but because that of Assad,
like those of Saddam and Gaddafi, are not anti-imperialist
governments, but regimes of a sector of bureaucratic capitalism and
comprador bourgeoisie oppressing the proletariat and people.
These governments are now
friends, now "enemies" of the imperialist powers competing
in the area. These governments are not the solution but part of the
problem for the Syrian and Arab masses.
We know that the forces of
the "left" in Syria and in the Arab world, including the
Palestinians, have enjoyed the support of the Assad regime. We do not
think that it has been a good thing in the past, nor now, and the
fact that clearly these forces, that also enjoy some credit in the
Western left, will mobilize against imperialist aggression can change
something.
We are
Marxist-Leninist-Maoist, we want to represent the interests of the
proletariat in ours as well as in Arab countries and in the whole
world.
Definitely, we are not
equidistant between the imperialist aggression and the Assad regime
under attack. Imperialism has to be fought in all forms, in all ways.
But the proletarian and communist point of view on this issue must be
clear to all. The PCm Italy is mobilized immediately toward the
proletarians, including immigrants, young people, neighborhoods, with
posters, leaflets, banners, speeches.
We condemn the role of
Italian imperialism, represented by the Letta's Government, and its
liaison with American imperialism.
Italian imperialism, no
matter what the minister Bonino says, objectively provides the
support of the Italian military bases. In this context, two cities
are important for our mobilization; Taranto and Niscemi/Palermo.
In Taranto there is the
largest military base in the Mediterranean Sea, involved since the
beginning and whose role can still grow in support of U.S.
imperialist troops.
In Sicily a people's
movement opposes the Muos and already struggles against US
imperialism and its war plans, with the full participation of Italian
imperialism, its State, the governments, the local government of
Crocetta, etc.
Furthermore, we should
look also at the liaison between Syria and Egypt, that for us is even
more important since it explains why our action must be autonomous
and independent.
The military dictatorship
of the new Mubarak a new Pinochet in Egypt should be seen as an
additional prop in support for the US imperialist aggression on Syria
- indeed, the preparation of this war could have been one of the
reasons for the military coup in Egypt.
In our action towards the
proletarians and the working class we should not be stereotyped and
denounce this latest war as an imperialist war waged by the
reactionary bourgeoisie and the masters of the world, while the
crisis assaults wages and jobs, and creates hunger, misery,
destruction, the workers are with the poor people in the world
wherever they fight and struggle for a world without wars and
masters.
