An open letter to the oppressed and exploited at the bottom of society of United States from Revolutionary Maoists of Iran
Over the past three years, we have
been witnessing the nuclear negotiations between the P5+1(the five permanent
members of
the UN Security Council: the United
States, United Kingdom, Russia, China, and France, plus Germany) under the leadership of the capitalist-imperialist
U.S. on one side and the reactionary Islamic Republic of Iran. These negotiations that have taken place over the last three
years, between the two oppressor and exploiter states are not in the interest
of the humanity. Both the U.S. and Iran are facing growing contradictions
internally and externally. There is much uncertainty on both sides right now
and there are many unforeseen factors that could cause shifts and quakes
throughout the world. One thing is certain though, no matter which side has the
upper hand, neither outmoded system has the interests of humanity in mind. X
On March 9, 2015, 47 Republican U.S.
Senators wrote a open letter addressed to the, "the leaders of the Islamic
Republic of Iran"(1). The letter
was written a week after the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu’s
speech to the U.S. Congress after being invited by the Republicans. X
The Republican Senators letter warned
the Iranian government against reaching a comprehensive final agreement with
the Obama administration, warning, “it is only an executive agreement and that
the next President and Congress can override it with the stroke of a pen can or
at any given time the next U.S House of Representatives can modify the terms of
the agreement. " X
In that letter, we have confronted not
only the escalation of contradictions
within the U.S. ruling class, but also the heightened internal conflicts
faced by Iran’s ruling class in the nuclear negotiations. There has also been a
building of fronts and alignments on both sides. In the United States, Liberals
and "progressive" supporters, "peace-seeking" and
"anti war" groups, as well as those who have tremendous delusions
about Obama and the Democratic Party. Many of these “progressives” hope that
the negotiations will help contain Iran and its nuclear program and prevent the
potential of U.S. military engagement against Iran. X
Iran is no exception! Various pro-Islamic
Republic forces in Iran, as well as "new left" supporters, those who
rallied and voted to elect Rouhani as President and have delusions about his
presidency have willingly blinded themselves and shuttered their sights on the
possibility of a future outside of the current regime and it's no less
reactionary policies. X
On the other hand, a lot of
“analysis" about the nuclear negotiations from those claiming to be
"socialist" is not deep and has no substance. Some of that so-called
"analysis" asserts that the nuclear negotiations are "ridiculous
and demagogic.” X
Such a reductionist view sees all
things as if they are part of a "conspiracy theory" against the
"interest of working class in Iran,” based on that metaphor and economist
view that the ruling class of both the imperialists (Group 5+1) and the Islamic
Republic regime are just making the "working class to wait and see"
and keeping them away from moving to get their "economic befits"
through "strikes"! This is just an attempt to shoulder off the
responsibility for understanding this phenomenon in a deep and all-sided
scientific, dialectical materialist approach and methodology for making it
possible to seize political power in a communist revolution in Iran. X
All six of the ruling class
representatives of the capitalist-imperialist countries (Group 5 + 1) have six
different opinions that are a reflection of inter-imperialist rivalry,
competitions and contradictions about their strategic interests in the world
and in the Middle East region on one side, and the reactionary rulers of the
Islamic regime, which is against the oppressed and exploited masses and has
particular contradictions and is contending for its own strategic interests in
the Middle East - a reactionary theocratic system struggling to survive through
negotiating with all six of those imperialists.
X
In such circumstances some people,
groups and organizations who claim to be "left" or
"socialist" and who have such a simplified view which just stays at
the surface of the phenomenon (the Nuclear Negotiation) are trying to turn
everything upside down with a flick of the pen based on a conspiracy theory
that is not in the interest of the emancipation of humanity - let alone in the
short and long-term interest of the "working class." And no matter
with what intensity they might claim that they are fighting for the interests
of the working class, they are not able to scientifically understand this
phenomenon, and therefore they leave the working class under the wing of the
Islamic Republic's ruling classes' propaganda machine.
X
March 11, 2015, the Editorial Board
of The New York Times (conveying the views of one faction of U. S. ruling class
wrote an article that on one hand tried to diminish the effect of the Senate
Republicans letter as one, "which
was drafted by Tom Cotton, a Republican of Arkansas, a junior senator with no
foreign policy credentials."(2) The New York Times attempted to serve as damage
control for one section of the U.S. ruling class and defend the Obama
administrations negotiation attempts with Iran warning, " these
Republicans are perfectly willing to diminish America’s standing as a global
power capable of crafting international commitments and adhering to them."(2) X
We are addressing our oppressed and
exploited brothers and sisters in the United States. We are speaking to our
Black and Latino brothers and sisters, Native American Indians and all of those
who have nothing gain from this putrid system. We do not negotiate with our
oppressors! We should struggle against them on the revolutionary battleground.
The oppressed masses in our country, as well as you, the young fighters of America from Ferguson to
New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles and elsewhere, our struggle is
intertwined. You are our strategic allies, our enemies are the same. Each of
our successes and failures will have a significant impact on the other! In essence,
we stand in the same front against tyrannical rulers! X
We consider you who are under the
oppression and exploitation of the U.S. imperialists as our ally in the struggle
against the oppressive rulers of Iran. Neither imperialism nor religious fundamentalism
(of any religion) can emancipate humanity. X
Our hope is set on those of you in
the United States--in the most powerful imperialist country. We consider your
just and courageous fight against the brutal, murdering police and the struggle
against white supremacy as part of our struggle for the emancipation of
humanity. Our struggles must unite to create a new world, free from oppression
and exploitation. Those of you in the United States, struggling right in the
belly of the beast, the number one oppressor and exploiter in the world! We
declare our solidarity with you. Your struggle and your victory is ours and
ours are yours. X
The
U.S. ruling class (which includes
its ruling parties and representatives within the media) are desperately
seeking to shore up U.S. hegemony in the world, in which control in the
Middle
East is strategic, however they are deeply divided over how to seek
these interests. Regardless of policy differences between the
Republicans and Democrats, U.S. policy consists of little more than
implementing
modern slavery--relations of exploitation through unchallenged economic,
political, cultural and military dominance. Both U.S. imperialism and
Islamic-fundamentalism are repressive and outmoded systems and therefore both
the U.S. imperialist system, as well as the Islamic Republic of Iran need to be
swept into the dustbin of history. We unite with the Revolutionary Communist
Party, USA in applying the revolutionary-science of Communism to prepare for
the time when these outmoded systems can be swept away in an all out struggle
for state power. X
The U. S. ruling class has the blood
of millions on its hands: from the enslavement of African Peoples the time of
slavery as well as the murder of radicals and revolutionaries of throughout the
world. Not to mention the U.S.’s role in countess coup d ' états (including but
not only the American-C.I.A.- coups in Iran in 1953 and American coup in
Indonesia in 1965 as well as Chile in 1973). And it continues today, with the
killings of people of color across America at the hands of police. Today
millions are incarcerated in the United States while countless others face the
daily harassment of the system’s enforcers, the police. X
Malcolm X correctly stated "a
ruling that from the time of slavery up to present time, with enforcement of racial
discrimination against Negros and eradication of leaders and fighters of the
civil rights movement, including the bloody suppression of blacks who were
fighting for their civil voting rights in Selma (March 7, 1965, located in the
State of Alabama), and oppressed black citizens it suppresses and kills, cannot
not occupy any chair on the Human Rights
Council of the United Nation and tell others how to respect human rights."(3)
X
In 1979, millions of oppressed Iranian
people made a revolution and toppled the U.S. backed Shah of Iran. On the eve
of the revolution and prior to the fall of the Shah , the ruling classes of the
capitalist countries (the United States, Britain, Germany and France) led by
U.S government conspired in the Guadeloupe
Conference (January 04 to 07, 1979)(4),
once they recognized that their strategic interests in the entire Middle East were
in great danger. When Shah’s regime was toppled through, they choose the
Ayatollah Khomeini and clique surrounding him (those who were the
representatives of the reactionary feudal landlord class that had been weakened
and lost their land during Shah's regime) as the new ruling classes to rule Iran,
and thereby the basis of religious fundamentalist dictatorship of the Islamic
Republic of Iran was locked in.
X
On the day after the revolution
succeeded in toppling the Shah, Khomeini's reactionary regime launched an offensive
on women, he mandated women to wear hijab coverings (veil), and reduced women
societal role to housework and childbearing, thereby legally instituting
theocratic-patriarchy. It has not been long after establishment of the Islamic
Republic regime -early 1979- the attack from the ground and in the air was
launched against heroic struggle of Kurds(a national minority in northwestern
and west Iran) The Kurds led a heroic struggle against the U.S. backed Shah and
then against their new oppressors, the Islamic Republic. X
After overthrowing the Shah, the
Islamic Republic imprisoned and brutally tortured political opponents which
included people imprisoned under the Shah, communists, and other opposition
forces. In 1981 and again in 1988, the IRI carried out mass hangings of
revolutionary and communist forces, while the U.S. kept silent on these
horrifying crimes against humanity. All of this served to bolster and solidify
the continued rule of the Islamic Regime. X
Despite temporary defeats and bloody
suppression, the struggle in Iran and Middle Eastern and the North African continues.
Work to construct a scientific, theoretical/ideological summation of the achievements
and setbacks of our struggle (in a historic and dialectical sense since early
1900 up to present time) in relation to the 1979 revolution in Iran still
continues. X
The 2010 Arab Spring (in Tunisia,
Egypt, Libya and Yemen) consisted of hundreds of millions of oppressed and
exploited masses at the bottom of society standing up against the two reactionary
alternatives of global capitalist-Imperialist system (U.S. Imperialism and
Islamic-Fundamentalism). Many people in the Middle-East and North Africa saw
this struggle as a chance to finally throw off their chains and this struggle
still wages on. X
The major powers involved in the
current nuclear talks, including the Iranian regime are based on oppression and
exploitation of the masses. All of them have committed gruesome acts of murder,
domestically and globally. These nuclear negotiations are not about ending
imperialist war and occupations. These negotiations are not about establishing peace
and democracy in the world, or releasing of political prisoners, emancipating
women, nor are they about supporting and protecting the rights of the people. X
These rulers recognize that our
struggles are united interrelated. They will use all kinds of tricks to make us
passive and obedient as they seek to divert our path by causing split amongst
our ranks and groups. They will attempt to install their political and ideological
moles and agents among us.
X
As Malcolm X in his speech on the
occasion of the Suppression of Selma In 1965 said: X
"To
understand this, you have to go back to what [the] young brother here referred
to as the house Negro
and the field Negro -- back during slavery. There was two
kinds of slaves. There was the house Negro and the field Negro. The house
Negroes - they lived in the house with master, they dressed pretty good, they
ate good 'cause they ate his food -- what he left. They lived in the attic or
the basement, but still they lived near the master; and they loved their master
more than the master loved himself. They would give their life to save the
master's house quicker than the master would. The house Negro, if the master
said, "We got a good house here," the house Negro would say,
"Yeah, we got a good house here." Whenever the master said
"we," he said "we." That's how you can tell a house Negro. X
If the
master's house caught on fire, the house Negro would fight harder to put the
blaze out than the master would. If the master got sick, the house Negro would
say, "What's
the matter, boss, we sick?" We sick! He identified himself with his master
more than his master identified with himself. X
This modern
house Negro loves his master. He wants to live near him. He'll pay three times
as much as the house is worth just to live near his master, and then brag about
"I'm the only Negro out here." "I'm the only one on my
job." "I'm the only one in this school." You're nothing but a
house Negro. And if someone comes to you right now and says, "Let's
separate," you say the same thing that the house Negro said on the
plantation. "What you mean, separate? From America? This good white man?
Where you going to get a better job than you get here?" I mean, this is
what you say. "I ain't left nothing in Africa," that's what you say.
Why, you left your mind in Africa.
X
On that same
plantation, there was the field Negro. The field Negro -- those were the
masses. There were always more Negroes in the field than there was Negroes in
the house. The Negro in the field caught hell. He ate leftovers. In the house
they ate high up on the hog. The Negro in the field didn't get nothing but what
was left of the insides of the hog. They call 'em "chitt'lings"
nowadays. In those days they called them what they were: guts. That's what you
were -- a gut-eater. And some of you all still gut-eaters. X
The field
Negro was beaten from morning to night. He lived in a shack, in a hut; He wore
old, castoff clothes. He hated his master. I say he hated his master. He was
intelligent. That house Negro loved his master. But that field Negro --
remember, they were in the majority, and they hated the master. When the house
caught on fire, he didn't try and put it out; that field Negro prayed for a
wind, for a breeze. When the master got sick, the field Negro prayed that he'd
die. If someone come [sic] to the field Negro and said, "Let's separate,
let's run," he didn't say "Where we going?" He'd say, "Any
place is better than here." You've got field Negroes in America today. I'm
a field Negro. The masses are the field Negroes."(5) X
Today, in accordance with what
Malcolm X has said more than 55 years ago, we are witnessing the "house
Negros" of capitalism-imperialism (Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and many
other black representatives of Congress and the U.S. Senate) attempt to line up
the oppressed and exploited behind the rulers of this criminal system. The
Presidency of Barrack Obama served the same purpose, to realign the oppressed
masses back under the wing of the U.S. ruling class. In the current conditions
a large part of the U.S. Government ruling class is attempting to line up all
factions of the Islamic Republic of Iran to ensure its strategic interests in
the Middle East region, dominated by its on strategic interests in controlling
the region. X
At this moment in history, any
organization that claims to support and defend the oppressed and exploited of
the world cannot do so by supporting the Islamic Republic and its attempts to
dominate and defend its strategic interests in the middle east, nor can it do
so by supporting the U.S. ruling classes strategy (represented by Obama)
attempting to enforce its interests in the region by placing Iran and the rest
of the middle east under the domination of capitalism-imperialism. Supporting either side betrays the oppressed
people of entire Middle East and the world who struggled so hard to overthrow
the American backed regime and gave their lives to oppose imperialist
domination. Supporting the rulers on either side leaves us in the hands of the
enemies of humanity once more. It will lead to more suppression and the
continuation of war and occupation. The situation is analogous to when the
police take one your lives in America, if rather than condemn the outrageous
murder and the system that continually murders people of color, we supported
it! If we do so, we would betray you. Be assured that we will never choose to
go that way. X
So the basic problem for the whole of
humanity around the world is this: Are
we, the oppressed and exploited of the world going to support and get in line
behind our rulers and oppressors?! Or in contrast, support the oppressive and
tyrannical rulers of the reactionary ruling class in the other country? In this
case, how will such a reactionary unification affect our struggle? Supporting
either reactionary ruling class to oppose the either ends of strengthening both
and sets us up for further domination! What should be the dividing line for the
oppressed of the world? Which side should we take? X
The process of lining up behind the
rulers of the Islamic Republic is in accordance with the strategic interests of
the world imperialist system and entails the all of the suffering that comes
with it. The heavy load of global imperialism’s economic sanctions on Iran, led
by the U.S. has caused the growth of inflation and food prices going up. The
has fallen mainly on the shoulders’ of the oppressed and exploited masses at
the bottom of Iranian society leaving the ruling class untouched. The outcome
of such economic sanctions has included: the growth of the black market for
critical medicines with prices increasing significantly. The imperialist
sanctions have also led to the growth of prostitution, burglary, and even
selling kidneys to survive. Many workers have unpaid wages dating back several
months. Overwhelmingly, the impact of sanctions are a big blow on daily life of
those at the bottom of Iran's society- the proletariat class! X
At the same time we should not close
our eyes on the Islamic Republic’s support of religious fundamentalist forces
like the Houthi in Yemen. Iran is
competing for domination in the region against Saudi Arabia, Egypt, U.A.E. and
Turkey who are backing the opposition in a war against progress of the Islamic
Republic in the Middle East region. Such a reactionary and anti-human war is
nothing except what the Islamic Republic regime looking for its own strategic
interests in the region. Direct and indirect military intervention of the
Islamic Republic in Yemen (sending military equipments and weapons, and high
level of senior Quds(international military forces of Iran’s Revolutionary
Guard) forces as military advisors to support
the Houthi's is to achieve its strategic interests in the region . Such
a move is seen by global imperialism and the puppet regime of America (Saudi
Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey) to be in
hostile to their strategic interests in the region. Without wanting to arrive
at a comprehensive analysis of this particular war in Yemen and the bloody
conflict over the strategic interests of the United states and its lapdogs (the
Arab states in the Middle East on the one hand, and the Islamic Republic of
Iran on the other), but in the light of the latest rounds of nuclear talks, the
Government of the Islamic Republic, in opposition to the American backed Arab
regimes, is intensifying the war in Yemen by strengthening military force of the religious fundamentalist
-Houthi forces. This has resulted in the horrendous killing of thousands of
people in Yemen. This assault is being used as leverage for the reduction of
pressure by Islamic Republic Regime. X
The American backed Arab Dictatorship
regimes involved in the Yemen War are trying to enforce the New World Order of
their master (U. S. Imperialism) in the Middle East and force the Islamic
Republic to give up by surrounding it. So is this not a indication that the foundations
of all negotiators of Capitalist-Imperialist countries' system (Group 5 + 1)
and their Arab servants- protectors are based on the oppression and
exploitation of the toilers of the world. X
To create a new society and end the
oppression, war and acts of madness; we need no waste a moment to unite and
fight against the ruling powers. We need to discuss various ideas in creative
and constrictive ways to choose the best way forward. We want the emancipation
of all humanity—nothing less. We must smash the state machinery and topple the
ruling classes of the capitalist system, in order to do this we need a
Communist leadership armed with a revolutionary scientific strategy that can
prepare for the conditions when a revolutionary situation comes about, which is
formed through the conscious work of revolutionary communists hastening while
awaiting. All of this can make it possible to seize political power when the
time is right. X
The truth is clear to us like the
sunshine! Based on our experience in the revolutionary struggle. We are not
waiting for the wind to blow! The struggle of our people in Iran, as well as
the struggle of the oppressed masses in the United States shows us that nothing
short of revolution will emancipate humanity. Even though it seems that the
mood of the people today is in shadow of darkness, silenced to revolution. The
oppression and suffering of the masses of people is like a gun powder keg, a single spark can ignite the fire for the revolution! We will burn their palace and replace
it with our own! The system of the oppressor will be smashed. Their defeat will
be not be like one Vietnam, not ten, but hundreds of Vietnam will be wagged
until we win! X
Long live the internationalist unity
of oppressed masses people all over the world! X
Long live the just struggle of
toilers of the world! X
Long live the revolution! X
Long live the Marxism- Leninism-
Maoism! X
