To the International Press and Public - TKP/ML

To the International Press and Public

|21.02.2018| A further “stage victory” in the fight against political justice in Munich!
On 19th February 2018, 4 more defendants were released in the TKP/ML (Communist Party of Turkey / Marxist-Leninist) court case, respectively their arrest warrants were suspended by a final decision of the Higher Regional Court (OLG) Munich.
The names of the released are: Dr. Sinan Aydin, Dr. Banu Buyukavci, Sami Solmaz and Musa Demir.  They continue to be charged and all must appear at the court dates, but for the time being they are “free”.
Nevertheless, we as ATIK assess this good news as another “stage victory in the fight against the politicised class justice”, which is ever-growing reflected in the unfair prosecution charges.
This partial achievement has once more proven that the efficient defence strategy, the release demands of the lawyers and the growing public pressure against this politicised indictment have been successful and that the result was not only proportionate and legal but also long overdue.
This is the collective success of the defence, the international public, the loyal-critical media reporters, the solidarity organisations and progressive individuals with the revolutionaries in Munich.
The Confederation of Workers from Turkey in Europe (ATIK), it’s member federations, as well as the independent women’s organization New Women (Yeni Kadın) and the youth organization New Democratic Youth (YDG) thanks all those, individuals and organisations for their untiring commitment and solidarity!
Nonetheless, there are 5 further comrades who are still unjustly imprisoned and isolated. Therefore, our political, legal and public struggle continues until the remaining 5, namely the main defendants Muslum Elma, Erhan Aktürk, Haydar Bern and Deniz Pektas are also released and the unjustified charges are finally dropped.
Therefore, on the occasion of this development we again call for:
  • Release of all political prisoners in the TKP/ML process!
  • Abolish 129 a and b!
  • Abolishment of Persecution authorisations!
  • Freedom for all political prisoners worldwide!
  • Stop the fascist dictatorship of Erdogan and the illegal intervention of the Turkish army in Afrin/North Syria!
  • Long live International Solidarity!
