On 29 March 2014, the Philippine revolutionary movement will be commemorating the 45th year of the establishment of the New People's Army under the absolute leadership of the Communist Party of the Philippines. On this occasion, the international office of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines will host a cultural event to salute the accumulated victories of People's War, pay tribute to the revolutionary martyrs, and rally international support for the Philippine revolution.
The New People's Army serves the fundamental interests of the people. It fulfills a key role in the agrarian revolution, in the united front against US imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism, and in building the revolutionary mass base in the countryside.
Following the leadership of the Communist Party of the Philippines, which is guided by Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, the New People’s Army has won significant victories and accumulated strength in the last four decades and a half. It has fiercely outfought one US puppet regime after another, including the Marcos fascist dictatorship and the current Benigno Aquino regime. It has developed its capacity to launch various types of offensives, seize weapons from the enemy, and create ever more units of the people's army. It has been able to consolidate the revolutionary mass base, operating in 71 out the total 81 provinces nationwide, establishing the various mass organizations and the organs of political power at the village and town levels. It has mobilized the peasant masses in lowering the feudal land rent, wiping out usury, increasing agricultural production, building rural cooperatives and improving the people's livelihood. In the last 45 years, it has truly served as the people's army. It is loved and cherished by the people.
