Martyr Nubar Ozanyan Armenian Brigade's Assessment Of The Political Situation

The genocidal attacks on Palestine and the glorious resistance against these attacks are dominating the world agenda. The student movement for solidarity in Palestine has spread all over the world starting from the USA. This rising student movement against imperialist aggression frightens the rulers because it resembles the 68 youth movements. For this reason, the protests organized by students on campuses face intense police attacks. Reaction is rising around the world due to the attacks of Zionist Israel. Due to the mass reactions, countries like the USA are forced to withdraw their open support from Israel. The practices of the Netanyahu government are not accepted by Israelis either. On the one hand, a ceasefire is on the agenda, on the other hand Israel is attacking Rafah. Imperialists like Russia and China are trying to attract countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE to their side over the Palestinian issue in order to get the highest profit from this process. However, Israel, which quickly won the 6-Day War, has been unable to break the Palestinian resistance for several months. Palestine is a good example for all the peoples resisting the occupation attacks, especially Rojava. Such a small country continues to resist despite Israel's technical and military superiority.

Israel's attacks are not limited to Palestine. Countries like Syria and Lebanon are also being attacked at regular intervals. Apart from these attacks, the people in Syria and Lebanon are trapped in serious poverty. In Lebanon, racism is escalated by pointing to immigrants from Syria as the cause of this poverty and immigrant workers are subjected to major attacks. Although these attacks have not yet escalated as they have in Turkey, they are expected to reach this level due to the escalating racist policies.

In Turkey, the AKP, led by Erdoğan, suffered a heavy loss in the elections. In the process, the people's movement against the state has also grown. There will also be elections in Iraqi Kurdistan. The Barzani government is postponing these elections. It wants to prolong this process because the KDP will lose these elections because of its corruption and its collaborator position in the attacks against the Kurdish people. The KDP are waiting for the war to break out. So it will use the war as a camouflage for more corruption and poverty, just like the Erdoğan government has been doing for years. The KDP is not only militarily involved in the operation carried out by the fascist Turkish state against the guerrillas. The camp in Dohuk is for Rojavans who will have to flee from the attacks of the Turkish state. A new and wider wave of attacks awaits the people of Rojava of all nationalities in the coming period.

In addition to the Turkish attack on Rojava, there is also the issue of Daesh, which is regaining strength. This situation also makes economic conditions more difficult. The Semelka border crossing to Kurdistan I, controlled by the KDP, is the most important address of the embargo. The only reason for all these policies, including the embargo, is to suffocate the ongoing revolution in Rojava. As the harvest time approaches, another important threat is that some Turkish-backed elements will set the fields on fire, as in previous years. For this reason, both the people and the forces loyal to the SDF are keeping watch over the crops. Burning the harvest means making it difficult to access bread, the most basic foodstuff. In all these difficult conditions, the Autonomous Administration is preparing for local elections. While Erdoğan threatens Rojava that “we will complete our unfinished business in Syria”, the Autonomous Administration has long wanted to hold these elections. This is very important for the development of democracy. In this way, Rojava's legitimacy will be recognized more and the people will be able to participate in governance in some way.

Due to imperialist aggression and the collaborationism of reactionary states, the waters in the Caucasus are not calming down. There is a serious movement in Armenia. The people do not accept the surrenderist line of the Pashinyan government and have risen up against it. They do not accept the ceasefire agreements with Azerbaijan. 4 more villages are to be surrendered. Therefore, thousands of people are taking to the streets. The slogan that stands out in these protests is the slogan of returning to Artsakh. On the instructions of the Pashinyan government, law enforcement forces are attacking these demonstrations.

In such a period, as part of April 24th, we, the Martyr Nubar Ozanyan Armenian Brigade and Cultural Center, organized various activities in Hasakah and the surrounding villages. After Armenia, the most massive anti-genocide demonstrations took place in Rojava. For the first time, the work against the genocide was so comprehensive in Rojava. April 24 activities were marked by the struggle line of Martyr Nubar Ozanyan. We followed his life and carried out these activities despite all the difficulties we faced. Nubar Ozanyan fought on behalf of Arabs in Palestine, Armenians in Artsakh, Kurds in Rojava and Turkish-Kurdish laborers in Turkey. Yes, he was an Armenian, but he was not limited to this nationality. He put his communist identity before everything else and fought. Nubar Ozanyan is a bridge of revolution between oppressed peoples. With this heritage, we responded first hand to the attacks on Palestine, we opposed the occupation of Artsakh from the first moment. At a time when self-interest, the supremacy of the individual and similar selfish ideologies are so prevalent in the world, his line is an example for us. He became a hero by leading a humble life. In the difficult war ahead, we will follow his line and lead the glorious line of struggle to victory. Neither the dirty games in the Caucasus, nor the KDP-TR collaboration, nor the Zionist aggression will extinguish this fire of struggle. This fire lives in the hearts of millions of oppressed peoples. It continues to fill the streets, squares and positions.
