He Continues to be Hope for the People and Fear for Fascism!
Comrade İbrahim’s fundamentally innovating move is his approach to creating a new vision and horizon for addressing the sharpest social-political problems and contradictions, and accelerating the discussion of these problems.
Comrade İbrahim built the founding foundations of the TKP/ML with a shape suitable for the country’s revolution. The understanding that the communist vanguard who would lead the People’s War, which is the revolutionary strategy required by the semi-colonial, semi-feudal social and economic structure, should have a warrior character was clear to the Leading Comrade. While establishing the Party based on this approach, he also started the guerrilla war, which was the jugular vein of the People’s War, in Malatya and Dersim. He shouldered the leadership of the Party responsible for commanding the war. He took a position in line with the understanding of organizing the Party in war. The guerrilla forces of the comrade, who were located in Dersim, one of the centers of the war and one of the dry steppes, were under siege by fascist forces in January 1973. In this siege, comrade Ali Haydar Yıldız joined the caravan of immortals. Comrade İbrahim managed to get out injured from the enemy encirclement. However, on January 29, he fell into the hands of the enemy due to the role of an informer in the village where he took refuge. He was under intense torture from the enemy from January 29 until May 18, when he was murdered.
He faced months of brutal torture with an extraordinary attitude focused on protecting his cause, his comrades, the people and the revolutionary line. Comrade İbrahim grasped the understanding the class struggle at the most advanced level and he challenged all mediocrity. His attitude towards torture is an ideological and political attack against fascism and an attitude of organizing the revolution against the ruling classes. In his defense and letters, every word is measured and there is an approach that aims to raise the cause of communism. Comrade İbrahim responded to the tortures of fascism by raising the revolutionary line, relying on the consciousness and science that would build the cause of people’s liberation and communism until his last breath. At the age of 24, he joined the caravan of immortals by creating the basic theoretical framework, building the Communist Party, and writing the manifesto of being shaped by the revolution.
Comrades, our working people of Turkish, Kurdish and various nationalities,
The murder of Comrade İbrahim had serious negative consequences in terms of the advancement and organization of the revolution and the construction of the Party. Our Party met its first defeat in its establishment phase and its construction process was seriously interrupted. All kinds of ideological-political inadequacies that would occur in the absence of a leader, who is equipped with an endless belief in the fundamental problems of the revolution and the Party and who breathes with passion to be equipped, have made themselves felt. Comrade İbrahim has a leadership structure that gathers the tendency, understanding and experience of the most advanced and revolutionary forces of the people and the most active segments. Political leadership has a very decisive importance at historical turning points. Comrade İbrahim became immortal precisely at the stage when there was a burning need to build the Party, organize the path of the revolution, and continue to answer the basic theoretical problems, and he made the voluntary decision to achieve this. His presence, and for sure his absence, has shown how crucial he was for the political leadership and for a Communist Party.
Our Party lost not only its founder and theorist but also its political leadership very early. The ideological-political foundation he laid has gained the power to become a guide to a historical process and has continued to be a living element of this historical process. The theoretical basis for the revolution in the country, which is a Democratic People’s Revolution has still not lost any of its scientific quality. It has formed a basis that captures the main link in a number of political and social problems, including the political nature and historical character of the Kemalist regime, the structure of the ruling classes, the identification of revolutionary classes, the multinational structure and its approach to the Kurdish national problem. Comrade İbrahim has shaped a scientific approach on many issues, including the understanding of the Party and its leadership role, the struggle against revisionism, the revolutionary strategy that will ensure the preservation of the quality of the Communist Party in countries like ours, and the mass line based on the historical tendency of the masses and the orientation of their most advanced and most active elements. This political-ideological concentration on the problems and organization of the revolution undoubtedly weakened with its loss. However, he never stopped, he never remained stagnant, or was never abandoned, or was doomed to loneliness. It is because of his quality of being a guide in the people’s struggle for liberation that the line and Party he organized ensured its breathless continuity. Since Comrade İbrahim drawn this path, there have been hundreds of thousands of people who have followed his footsteps until today. His Party, which was his greatest work in his short life, jealously safeguarded his line. For this reason, he lost three General Secretaries on the battlefields. Dozens of its cadres and hundreds of militants have become immortal in the struggle along the lines of the People’s War.
Comrade İbrahim’s legacy is undoubtedly in our hands today. As his successors, we accept that we still cannot approach his method and scientific attitude that dominates reality, looking at our reality in the class struggle and our inability to resolve the contradictions. However, we look for our shortcomings and failures not in distrust of his line, but in the inadequacies and weaknesses we experience in dominating and advancing the class struggle. This brings us to the knowledge of persevering in the line and being shaped with the awareness that Marxism-Leninism-Maoism is the greatest weapon we have in overcoming this inadequacy.
Today, we, basing ourselves on Comrade İbrahim, are struggling to set a barrier against reformism, constitutional illusions, “impotent power” chatter, and theories of gradual development with opportunities within the order, theories which are not addressing the real problems and principles of the revolution and the revolutionary tendencies of the masses.
We strongly embrace the position from Comrade İbrahim that a Party without a warrior character cannot survive under the conditions of our country and continue the work with determination. We are positioned with the awareness that the growing anger of the masses, their power to destroy and build, is shaped by the tendencies and attitudes of the most advanced and active segments today. We continue to carry the flag we inherited from Comrade İbrahim, by examining the political and social contradictions and the tendency to find direction, our own situation and the situation of the enemy, and insisting on the right place and the right line with our 52 years of experience.
This determination is not overshadowed by the prolonged process of the counter-revolution, the backward level of the class struggle does not cause discouragement, our weaknesses and shortcomings do not diminish our determination, and the imperialist bandits and fascism showing their power do not instill us fear. The historical fairness of the people’s cause, the inevitability of class struggle, and the fact that what is right is destined to turn weakness into strength keep our determination and struggling power alive.

Our leader İbrahim KAYPAKKAYA has become a compass of salvation for the working people of Turkish, Kurdish and various nationalities with the red route he drew. Comrade İbrahim, it should be known that more needs than yesterday means a stronger preparation for tomorrow. Today, the accumulated anger of the people and their desire to defeat fascism is only possible by tracing and following the revolutionary-communist line created by Comrade İbrahim.
Our Party is determined to continue its will to struggle against fascism, imperialism and all kinds of reactionism, and to continue on this path until victory. We will continue to follow Comrade İbrahim’s path, which is hope for us and fear for fascism.
