Report of a meeting of Supporters of the Communist (Maoist) Party of Afghanistan in Europe

On December 2012 a meeting of the supporters of the Communist (Maoist) Party of Afghanistan [C(M)PA] in Europe, in the presence of representatives of the party,  was held as part of the overall campaign to rectify the party’s style of work.
Representatives of the C(M)PA attending the meeting briefed the party supporters on the situation in Afghanistan, the international communist scene––particularly on the efforts of the Marxist-Leninist-Maoist parties, including the C(M)PA, to form a new international communist organization of the Marxist-Leninist-Maoist parties and organizations throughout the world.
At this meeting overwhelming support for the efforts of the C(M)PA and other comrade parties for the formation of a new international communist organization was expressed. Comrades emphasized the fact that the existence of an international communist organization to coordinate and lead the activities of the international communist movement will have an immensely positive impact on the expansion of the revolutionary movements and preparing the subjective factor of the world revolution, especially during a time when the revolutionary masses are rising up in an unprecedented manner to challenge the “masters of the universe” around the world, and the capitalist imperialist system has been threatened by the most severe economic and financial crisis since the great depression of the early twentieth century and its ideology and political systems are facing a profound crisis of legitimacy.
Furthermore, comrades at this meeting expressed their full support for the party in taking a position against the Avakianite post-MLM and Prachanda-Bhattarai revisionisms that have resulted in the collapse of the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement [RIM]. The comrades reiterated the fact that we have been deprived of our international organization during a very critical epoch. During a time when the masses in the Middle East are rising up against despots and imperialist puppets––and also revolutionary upsurges are taking place in the imperialist countries in the form of the occupy movement, the students and workers rebellions––an international Maoist organization would have played an important role in influencing these mass upsurges by providing them with a more revolutionary and communist direction. Thus, the comrades stressed the fact that it is important to strive for the formation of a new international organization of MLM forces.
The party supporters applauded the work of party comrades and the mass democratic organization within the country and the significant advances that have been made in the revolutionary fronts within the country. The party supporters in Europe pledged to stand beside the revolutionary activities and struggles of the party within the country and to extend their support to the party and its mass democratic organizations by all means possible.
Moreover, the party supporters at this meeting formed an Organizing Committee of the Supporters of C(M)PA in Europe in order to lead and coordinate the activities and struggles of the party supporters there. Given the fact that there are many ex-party members and supporters across Europe who, so far, have been unorganized, this committee will strive to gather them into a strong organization of party supporters in this continent. The comrades affirmed the fact that Europe is an important front for the party’s revolutionary struggles within the country and also internationally. In the conjuncture of an imperialist occupation, of which the European countries are forming the bulk of the imperialist alliance occupying Afghanistan, party supporters in Europe, by coordinating with the anti-imperialist internationalist left in that continent, can muster a significant anti-imperialist movement that will be of crucial support for the anti-imperialist struggles of the party and its mass democratic organizations within Afghanistan.
Given the immense importance of the party’s work in Europe, party supporters pledged to do the following:

  1. To strive for forging an effective organization of the party's supporters in Europe.
  2. To build unfailing relations with other Marxist-Leninist-Maoist forces and with the broader anti-imperialist internationalist left in Europe.
  3. To not leave any stone unturned in supporting party activities within the country and also internationally.
  4. To hold a conference of all party supporters within a year.
The meeting concluded with the revolutionary spirit to shake-things-up in Europe in relation to revolutionary work around Afghanistan.
