Message of solidarity to the Revolutionary Democratic Front on the brutal murder of Comrade Ganti Prasadam
The National Democratic Front of the Philippines condemns in the strongest terms possible the brutal murder of Comrade Ganti Prasadam, on 5 July 2013 in Nellore town, in Andra Pradesh. We extend our deepest condolences to his comrades, family and friends, and we join them in their call for a thorough investigation in order to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice.
As the All-India Vice-President of the Revolutionary Democratic Front and Executive Member of the Committee for the Relatives and Friends of Martyrs, Comrade Ganti was in Nellore for the annual commemoration meeting for martyrs. He was to visit an ailing relative of a martyr at a local hospital when he and his companions were treacherously attacked by unidentified goons armed with hunting sickles and pistols.
The brutal murder is reminiscent of the assassination of other leaders of the people's movement in the last 40 years, where agents of the intelligence service of the Andra Pradesh government had been implicated.
The people's movement for national liberation and democracy in the Philippines suffers similarly at the hands of the security agents of the US-puppet government. Leaders and activists are arrested based on false charges, and they are routinely tortured while in custody. A number of the people's leaders are abducted, never to be seen again, or assassinated in cold blood as what befell Comrade Ganti.
But the people's movement for social liberation cannot be deterred by the brutal yet desperate attacks of the reactionary state. The martyrdom of Comrade Ganti galvanizes the people's determination even more to struggle for their democratic rights and to build a better society.
The NDFP and the revolutionary people of the Philippines extend their warm and militant support to the RDF and the Indian people in continuing the revolutionary legacy of Comrade Ganti Prasadam.
Long live the revolutionary legacy of Comrade Ganti Prasadam!
Long live the Revolutionary Democratic Front!
Long live the revolutionary struggle of the Indian people!
Long live international anti-imperialist solidarity!
