February 15, 2025The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) strongly condemns US President Trump for declaring plans to “take over” and “own” Gaza in a display of utter disregard for the sovereignty and right to self-determination of the Palestinian people.
The Party denounces the US
President’s plan to drive the Palestinian people away from their land,
by treating Gaza as a piece of real estate that will be turned into an
“international destination.”
This plan aggravates the situation of the Palestinian people, who have suffered more than one year of non-stop aerial bombardment and shelling by the Zionist state of Israel supported by the US government. The blood of more than 46,000 people killed, including 18,000 children, are dripping from the hands of the US imperialists and Zionists.
The declared plan of Trump has emboldened the Zionist state of Israel to further its genocide against the Palestinian people. Following the Trump declaration, the Israeli state threatened to resume the bombardment, in violation of the January 19 ceasefire agreement.
The ceasefire agreement stipulates plans for the scheduled and reciprocal release of prisoners, the entry of humanitarian aid, and the withdrawal of Zionist forces from population centers to allow the return of the Palestinians to their homes and communities.
We call on all progressive forces and peace-loving peoples around the world to condemn the US President’s declaration and continued US military and political support for the genocidal war of the Zionist state of Israel against the Palestinian people. The international community must take concrete actions to hold Israel and the US accountable for their brazen colonial aggression in violation of international law.
The Party reaffirms its solidarity with the Palestinian people and their struggle for liberation and their right to national self-determination. Their continuing resistance is an integral to the advancing the global resistance to imperialism and all forms of oppression.
