Glory to the Martyrs! Victory to the Resistance!
Statement of the ILPS on the Martyrdom of Mohammed Khalil Wishah and Mufid Hassan Hussein
The
International League of Peoples’ Struggle joins with the Popular Front
for the Liberation of Palestine and the whole Palestinian people in
mourning the loss of Mohammed Khalil Wishah (Abu Khalil) Member of the
General Central Committee, and field commander Mufid Hassan Hussein, who
were martyred in a Zionist assassination crime on the Syria-Lebanon
road.
Both
Hussein and Wishah were martyred on the path of liberation for their
entire homeland of Palestine. Both Wishah and Hussein lived their entire
lives with the fight against the Zionist fascist regime in their
hearts, and ascended alongside all those whose lives are taken in Gaza,
the West Bank, and throughout the region whether they were martyred on
the front lines of the battlefield or on the battlefield of hunger and
forced starvation by the US-Zionist regime.
They
were targeted for cowardly assassination by the occupying regime in its
attempt to maintain its campaign of genocide through continued
airstrikes, criminal blockade and imposed famine of Gaza. According to
the Gaza Ministry of Health on August 9 2025:
“In the past 24 hours, 39 martyrs (including 1 whose body was recovered) and 491 injuries have arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals.”
“From 18 March 2025, to today, the total stands at 9,862 martyrs and 40,809 injuries.”
“In
the past 24 hours, 21 aid-seeking martyrs and 341 injuries have arrived
at hospitals, raising the total number of such martyrs to 1,743 and
over 12,590 injuries.”
“In
the past 24 hours, Gaza hospitals recorded 11 deaths due to famine and
malnutrition, bringing the total to 212 deaths, including 98 children.”
The
League stands in full and unconditional solidarity with the people of
Palestine and the Palestinian resistance in waging its just struggle
against the US-Zionist fascist regime. We continue to call upon our
members to take urgent militant action to demand the end of the Zionist
starvation policy and plans to occupy the entirety of the Gaza Strip,
and for the full entry of aid for the people.
The
ILPS joins with the PFLP in remembering with pride and honor the models
of loyalty and revolutionary commitment embodied by Wishah and Hussein.
As the Front proclaimed, “They exemplified all the meanings of heroism
and steadfastness for which our people are known in confronting the
machinery of occupation.”
