Lok Sangram Morcha commemorated Martyrs Day in Moga in Punjab on July 27th.Although not large it was qualitatively positive, flashing the torch of rebellion.

Lok Sangram Morcha commemorated Martyrs Day in Moga in Punjab on July 27th. Martyrs paid homage to were Avtar Singh Dhudke, Prithipal Singh Randhawa, Laal Inder Singh Lali, Baba Bhuja Singh, Kanhai Chaterjee ,Charu Mazumdar, Basavaraju and Udham Singh. Thus encompassed Maoist leaders, past Naxalite martyrs, Student leaders and freedom fighters. Activists of Bharatiya Kisan Union(Krantikari) , Krantikari Pendu Mazdoor Union , Krantikari e rickshaw Union, participated in the gathering.
Balwant Makhu, Sarban Singh , Gurdeep Vairoke and Press in charge Paramjet Jaree conducted the programme in Independence welfare Bhavan. Darshan Turi opened the proceedings, before two minutes of silence was observed. Paramjit Jara then raised slogans. Then Ajmer Akaliya sang a revolutionary song.

Speakers summarised the sustained mass resistance movements of Adivasis to protect their natural resources, the brutal neo-fascist state repression which fostered Brahmanical fascism and the merciless manner it robbed the Adivasis of land, forests and water, patronising loot of corporates. They recollected the state’s genocide unleashed to tear the fabric of the Maoist movement and crush all mass movements it has organised. Light was thrown on the need to unite all democratic forces into a cohesive force, to combat fascism. Leaders who spoke were Lakhveeer Singh of Krantikari Pendu Mazdoor Union, Lok SangramMorch leaders, Rajesh Malhotra, Sukhmander Singh, BKU(Krantikari) leaders Baldev Jari and Gurdeep Vairoke.
Tara Singh Moga, stage secretary, performed the final rites of the the programme, thanking all the participants, organisations and reaafirming pledge to carry on the pursuit of dreams of the martyrs.
Such gathering has significance in resurrecting the dreams of those who aspired to break the bondage of the people India from tyranny of imperialism, feudalism and capitalism and wave the banner of liberation to extinguish the nation from the forces of darkness. It gave crediblity to the resistance of the Maoists in Bastar and to the fact that Naxalbari is not dead and buried.
