Hundreds
of thousands of workers and students took to the streets of Belgrade,
Serbia yesterday protesting against the crimes of the neoliberal state
and calling for the resignation of President Aleksandar Vucic.
The
battle for Serbia's soul has been ongoing for almost 9 months now after
a railway station in Novi Sad collapsed, killing 16 people. The
collapse was largely blamed on corrupt government officials and
widespread profiteering which has sacrificed the safety of ordinary
people for the greed and self interest of capitalists and the
bureaucracy.
