CASR EXPRESS SOLIDARITY WITH COMRADE PRAMOD MISHRA, WHO IS ON A FAST UNTO DEATH IN BEUR JAIL, BIHAR, FIGHTING FOR PRISONERS RIGHTS

The Campaign Against State Repression (CASR) expresses its unwavering solidarity with political prisoner Comrade Pramod Mishra, a 74-year-old revolutionary activist presently incarcerated in Beur Central Jail, Bihar, where he has been imprisoned for nearly three years.

Pramod Mishra, whom the state identifies as a Central Committee and Polit Bureau member of the CPI (Maoist), is currently on a hunger strike—declared as a fast unto death from 26 January—to protest the inhuman and degrading conditions prevailing inside Beur Jail. His demands are basic and legitimate: adequate food and breakfast, access to essential daily necessities, and regular telephone facilities to communicate with his family members and legal counsel.

At the age of 74, continued incarceration under such conditions amounts to slow custodial violence. The denial of adequate nutrition, basic amenities, and communication facilities reflects the punitive and retaliatory character of prison administration, particularly in cases involving political prisoners and those accused of dissent against the state.

Indian prisons are increasingly functioning as sites of class and political repression, where prisoners—especially those associated with revolutionary, Adivasi, workers’, and peasants’ movements—are subjected to systematic discrimination. While the state claims that jail conditions in some parts of the country have improved, the lived reality across prisons remains one of overcrowding, inadequate food, poor medical care, and denial of legal and family access. These issues are structural and nationwide, not isolated incidents.

The tragic deaths of Father Stan Swamy and Professor G. N. Saibaba stand as stark reminders of how criminal neglect, denial of medical care, and prolonged incarceration under inhuman conditions can become instruments of killing. Both were elderly, seriously ill, and repeatedly denied timely medical treatment and basic facilities, exposing the deadly consequences of the current prison regime. These deaths were not accidents but outcomes of an inhuman system that treats political prisoners as expendable.

The condition of Pramod Mishra is not an exception; it reflects a broader pattern of repression against political prisoners, undertrial detainees, and voices resisting exploitation and state violence. The continued neglect of elderly and ailing prisoners further exposes the anti-people orientation of the present prison system.

CASR DEMANDS:

1. Immediate provision of proper, nutritious food and essential necessities to all prisoners.

2. Guaranteed and regular telephone access for communication with family members and legal counsel.

3. An independent and transparent medical monitoring of Comrade Pramod Mishra, considering his age and ongoing hunger strike.

We call upon democratic forces, civil liberties organizations, and people’s movements to raise their voices against custodial repression and to intervene urgently to prevent any irreversible harm.

Repression cannot extinguish resistance.

The struggle for dignity and justice continues.

Operation Kagar” and its massacres were protested in Vienna, Austria

 report published by Avrupa Haber.

In Vienna, the “Operation Kagar” and its massacres perpetrated by the fascist Modi regime and imperialist-backed Indian reactionaries against the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and the People’s War were protested.

At the demonstration carried out in front of the Indian Embassy in Karlplatz on January 27, 2026, speeches were carried outon behalf of severalorganizations, including ATiGF, and a jointly prepared speech by revolutionary and democratic organizations, was read in German and English.

During the demonstration, slogans such as “Long live international solidarity!”, “Down with fascist attacks!”, “Long live People’s War!”, and “Long live revolutionary solidarity!” were shouted.

NDFP: Down with Operation Kagaar! Support the Indian peoples’ struggle for national and social liberation!

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines International Office condemns in the strongest terms Operation Kagaar and the Indian reactionary state’s declared objective of making the country “Maoist-free” by March 31, 2026. In pursuit of this objective, the fascist Modi regime is carrying out a genocide against the Adivasi people and a war of annihilation against the fighting Indian masses which reveals the true character of the ongoing military campaign in Adivasi regions: a counterrevolutionary war aimed not merely at armed revolutionary forces, but at the political, social, and material foundations of people’s resistance.

First launched in January 2024, Operation Kagaar is part of a long-running and escalating counterrevolutionary effort to suppress the people’s war in India. Under the banner of achieving a “Maoist-free India,” the Modi government has designated entire Adivasi regions such as Abuhjmaad in the southern state of Chhattisgarh as “enemy territory.” In practice, this has meant the collective punishment of Adivasi communities whose mineral-rich lands are coveted by big Indian and foreign corporations. Villages are militarized, civilians are treated as combatants, and any assertion of collective rights over land and resources is branded as subversive or terrorist.

The revolutionary struggle of the Indian people arises from concrete and enduring conditions of exploitation and oppression embedded in the semifeudal and semicolonial character of Indian society. Vast sections of the population such as Dalits and other scheduled castes, continue to suffer from landlessness, caste oppression, and the violent dispossession imposed by local and foreign capitalist investors. For the Adivasi people in particular, this oppression has taken a distinctly genocidal form for decades. Since the post-independence consolidation of the Indian state in the early 1960s, Adivasi territories have been subjected to continuous militarization, forced displacement and relentless state terror. Counterrevolutionary campaigns from earlier decades such as Salwa Judum (2005-2011) and Operation Green Hunt (2009-2024) to the present-day Operation Kagaar represent successive phases of state terrorism against the Adivasis, Dalits and other scheduled castes, and is precisely what provides the objective basis for the Indian people’s armed revolutionary struggle.

Since the launch of Operation Kagaar in January 2024, the scale of violence has intensified. According to independent estimates, at least 550 individuals identified by the state as Maoists have been killed in the course of the campaign. This includes the killing of Nambala Keshava Rao, known as comrade Basavaraju on May 21, 2025. Comrade Basavaraju was the General Secretary of Communist Party of India (Maoist). He was martyred by fascist state security forces alongside 27 other fighters of the People’s Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA) in the dense Abuhjmaad forests of Narayanpur district in state of Chhatisgarh.

This experience closely mirrors that of the Philippines, where successive reactionary regimes, under direct guidance and material support from US imperialism, have launched a series of “counterinsurgency” programs aimed at making the country “insurgency-free.” From one Oplan to another, these campaigns sought the decisive defeat of the revolutionary movement of the Filipino people. Instead, they produced widespread human rights violations and violations of international humanitarian law, the militarization of peasant and indigenous communities,  intensified land grabbing and resource extraction, and the further political isolation of these successive regimes from the people

Despite decades of brutal repression, the people’s democratic revolution in the Philippines has endured and advanced, because it is rooted in the concrete struggles of the masses and sustained by their aspirations for national liberation and social justice. The failure of these counterrevolutionary oplans exposes the fundamental truth that reactionary violence cannot extinguish a revolution born of necessity.

Down with Operation Kagaar!
Support the Indian people’s struggle for national and social liberation!
Long live the PLGA!
Long live the CPI(Maoist)!
Long live international solidarity!

ICE = GESTAPO, from Sol Rojo (Mexico)

EEUU.

India - Release Hidma’s 23! Searching for the Missing Spine of Delhi’s “Left” - Nazariya - for debate

As the cold winter takes its hold in the capital of India, the annual toxic smog has enveloped the city once again. Those who were fighting against the causes behind this have been brutally detained, and subsequently arrested. It has been nearly two weeks since the arrest of 23 student activists associated with the Marxist-Leninist-Maoist student organization Bhagat Singh Chatra Ekta Manch (bsCEM) and the radical environmentalist organization, The Himkhand, under the charges of harming “national unity,” attacking police officers and various trumped up charges pertaining to “outraging the modesty of women” police officers. It will also be two weeks since the entire “left” cohort of Delhi has once again failed to uphold the values it preaches – despite the open repression on these activists, these so-called leftists have not even offered any solidarity to the ones facing police brutality. They failed in July of this year, when 9 activists from Delhi were kept in unlawful custody for over a week and not a peep was made by the organizations who shared common platforms with these activists for years. Instead, the organizations which faced the state repression, such as bsCEM, had to go back and raise a call for protest demanding the release of these activists which ultimately forced the hand of the state into releasing the unlawfully detained activists. Later on, we learned of the brutal torture they went through. Electrocutions, stripping down of women, threats of rape with rods, thrusting of rural background activists into toilet bowls, casteist assaults on dalit background activists, none of these incidents were enough to stir the soul of the “left” of Delhi into action. Once again, we are at a juncture where there is either silence or active malice being thrown around by various organizations among the left. Some organizations find the identification of the immortal martyr Comrade Madvi Hidma’s name with the struggle for a better environment as “sectarian.” Others find fault with the slogans raised, dubbing them “adventurist.” Disgruntled talks about etiquette within a united front have also been noted by us. All democratic organizations must uphold the demand to release Hidma’s 23. We must also actively engage in a search for the spine of Delhi’s left, which seems to be missing in action since 2014, when the fascist Modi’s claims of a 56-inch chest were taken too seriously by these forces.

Radio Silence from So-Called Fellow Communist Revolutionaries

EVERY PART OF KURDISTAN WILL BE A GRAVE FOR US IMPERIALISM, ITS LACKEY FASCIST TURKISH REPUBLIC, AND HTS! - TKP/ML CC-PB - for debate

Syrian Kurdistan and its national achievements are under attack from fascist Turkey and the jihadist Syrian regime, under the patronage of US-British-French-German imperialism. Following the handover of the Assad regime on a silver platter to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) led by al-Jolani by US-British imperialism on December 8, 2024, the search for reshaping a fragmented Syria has intensified.

US imperialism, by developing closer ties with Syria, which has now become its semi-colony, and its puppet HTS, has attempted to position itself in a way that suits both the political structure and the role it has envisioned for the region. In particular, Turkey, Israel, and to some extent other regional states subservient to the US, under the leadership of Tom Barrack, have worked intensively in shaping Syria. The most significant contradiction in this process has been the status of Syrian Kurdistan.

In parallel with the regime change in Syria, the Turkish ruling classes announced in October 2024 that they had initiated talks with the PKK and its leader Abdullah Öcalan aimed at “peace and reconciliation.” The parties defined the purpose and objective of these talks not as resolving the “Kurdish national question,” but as abandoning the “armed, illegal form of struggle” and “paving the way for democracy.” While Devlet Bahçeli and Tayyip Erdoğan described the process as “a terror-free Turkey, a terror-free region” and a “Turkish, Kurdish, and Arab alliance,” Abdullah Öcalan defined it as a “democratic republic, democratic integration,” and a “transition to unarmed struggle.”

Unoficcial translation, here the original in bengali:
Call for Europe-wide Sit-In Protests under the initiative of the “International Emergency Campaign Against Operation Kagaar”.
Since January 2024, under the name of the military operation “Operation Kagaar,” the Hindutva fascist Modi government has been carrying out massacres of Maoists and Adivasis in various states of India and subjecting them to unspeakable repression and persecution. According to the official narrative, this operation aims to eliminate the Maoists by March 31, 2026. In reality, the main objective of this operation is to forcibly evict Adivasis and hand over their water, land, and forests to imperialist multinational corporations, thereby safeguarding their interests. With this aim, the fascist Modi government is killing hundreds of Maoists and Adivasi people.
Those who take a stand against Operation Kagaar are being brutally suppressed through the repressive law UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act). Against these acts of repression and killing, revolutionary, democratic, progressive forces and human rights organizations in India are waging struggle and resistance. On the other hand, the imperialist European Union continues to shamelessly support the Hindutva fascist Modi government.
On January 26 and 27, 2026, meetings of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee and the Human Rights Subcommittee will be held in Brussels. Under the initiative of the “International Emergency Campaign Against Operation Kagaar,” a call has been made for mass movements across Europe against “Operation Kagaar” and to denounce the EU’s support for the Indian state.
They have called for sit-in protests demanding an end to “Operation Kagaar” on January 27, 2026– at 10:00 a.m. in front of the European Parliament and at 2:00 p.m. in front of the Indian Embassy.
We express our unwavering support for the above-mentioned programs and call upon all revolutionary, democratic, progressive forces and individuals, as well as human rights organizations residing in Europe and Belgium, to make these programs a success.

Operation Kagaar and the EU's support to the Indian regime!

LASST UNS ROJAVA GEMEINSAM VERTEIDIGEN – BIJÎ ROJAVA!

India - Release Kranthi Chaitanya and Mohan Krishna immediately

India: CRPP-WB – Withdraw the cases imposed on the leaders and activists of APCLC

a press release issued by the Committee for the Release of Political Prisoners – West Bengal (CRPP-WB

It is alarming to note that the leader of the Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee (APCLC) Kranthi Chaitanya and an activist Mohan Krishna have been arrested by the AP police on 9 th January, 2026 for erecting a banner commemorating the organisation’s 20th State Conference. The arrest was made based on a complaint lodged by the President of the Sanatan Dharma Protection Committee, alleging the erection of a “provocative banner”. In reality, the banner contained the call for punishing the Hindu extremists responsible for killing rationalists and democrats and featured photographs of Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare, M M Kalburgi and Gauri Lankesh who were, in reality, assassinated by members of Hindutva organisations as investigate findings revealed. As a brazen show of trampling all democratic and secular values, the Hindutva forces openly felicitated the persons accused in the murder of Gauri Lankesh and M M Kalburgi after their bail.

The banner erected APCLC also contained an emblem similar to Ashok Stambh with the lion face of the Lion Capital being replaced by bull face and in place of ‘Satyameva jayate’, ‘Satyameva parajayate’ was written. This satirical emblem was used to criticise the Hindutva State power which is constantly eroding the secular and democratic values upheld by the very Indian Constitution. But naming the banner as provocative, several charges including Sedition, act of endangering the sovereignty and integrity of India, breach of peace etc.. have been slapped on the activists of APCLC.

We, as members of CRPP (W.B), strongly condemn this act of high-handedness of the AP police. In this context we would also like to remind that in a similar case filed against cartoonist Asim Trivedi in 2012, the Bombay High Court ruled, that if cartoons or other visual depictions do not incite violence or are not intended to create public disorder, then those cannot be used for curtailing freedom of expression simply because those depictions do not contain any humorous element.

In light of the above-mentioned ruling, we demand the immediate and unconditional release of senior civil liberties leaders and activists Kranthi Chaitanya and Mohan Krishna. We also urge all democratic minded citizens of the country to raise their voices against such incidents of brazen use of State power to curtail the freedom of speech and expression of the citizens of our country.

Call for a European mobilization against Operation Kagaar and to denounce the EU's support for the Indian regime!

Call for a European mobilization against Operation Kagaar and to denounce the EU's support for the Indian regime!

On January 26 and 27, the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee - Human Rights Subcommittee will meet in Brussels. We call on all sincere democrats, progressives, human rights groups, and those advocating for freedom of expression and religion, as well as revolutionaries of all political tendencies, to participate in a sit-in protest in front of the European Parliament and the Indian Embassy in Belgium.

In fact, since January 2024, the Indian regime of Narendra Modi has launched a full-fledged military operation called "Operation Kagaar" in central India, in the states of Chattisgarh, Talengana, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Jharkhand, the so-called "tribal belt" where the Adivasi populations live.

With the deployment of 60,000 paramilitary forces, air forces, drones, and armored vehicles, officially mobilized against the Communist Party of India (Maoist) with the goal of eliminating it "by March 31, 2026," Adivasi populations are being attacked to forcibly evict them from their lands for mining companies to establish.

Human rights groups in India denounce indiscriminate killings (including newborns and pregnant women) and rapings.

Operation Kagaar follows a similar military operation called "Operation Samadhan-Prahar" (2017-2023) in the same areas and using the same methods. This means that this military operation against Adivasi populations has been ongoing for seven years, with indiscriminate massacres in which entire villages are targeted and razed.

The Hindutva brahminical regime of Narendra Mondi directs such massacres by waving the bogeyman of "Maoist terrorism" using the draconian UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) of 1967, i.e. the anti-terrorism law to target all voices of dissent and political opponents. Just to name a few cases:

-For more than three years, journalist Rupesh Kumar Singh has been under arrest for his articles opposing the military campaigns parties or the Operation Samadhan-Prahar against the Adivasi people in the state of Jarkhand.

-the political prisoner Sanjoy Deepak Rao, a member of the CPI (Maoist) Central Committee, has been imprisoned for two years without trial and is denied basic prisoner rights, such as the right to leave his cell between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., while being granted only two hours a day. Sanjoy Deepak Rao went on hunger strike on October 28th.

-In May, journalist Rejaz Sydeek, 26, member of the Democratic Student Association, was arrested for his articles criticizing the Indian military operation against Pakistan and accused of various charges, including terrorism.

-Between July 11 and 21, nine people, mostly students, were arrested without warrants and taken to an undisclosed place where they were tortured and threatened with rape. These arrests were to obtain information about Vallika Varshri, editor of Nazariya (a leftist magazine), wanted by the police.

-Recently, approximately 50 people protesting at Indian Gate in New Delhi against the government's anti-environmental policies and Operation Kaagar, were arrested on charges of having ties with the Maoists.

-Finally, 97 percent of people arrested in India under the draconian Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). remain in prison without trial, sometimes for years.

Human rights groups report that Communist Party of India (Maoist) militants, once arrested, are often interrogated and tortured in secret locations and then killed in cold blood in isolated forest locations in fake clashes. This recently happened with Hidma and Ganesh militants, last November and December, respectively.

A report was recently published on the systematic use of torture against ordinary and political prisoners in prisons in the state of Bihar.

The Modi regime seeks to impose a single identity, "Hindutva", in a country of over 1.5 billion people, where 23 of the 179 official languages are officially registered (not counting over 1,650 dialects), various religions (including Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainism, Islam, Christianity, Zoroastrianism), and various nationalities.

Hindutva is a supremacist ideology that advocates the establishment of a political regime throughout the Indian Union in which there should be a single religion, Hinduism, and a single language, Hindi. In a country as diverse as India in terms of ethnic, religious, and linguistic diversity, Modi's Hindutva government, led by the BJP, sponsors even more extremist groups such as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (of which Modi himself was a member) and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, which carry out attacks.

Indiscriminate against all minorities, particularly in the last 11 years since Narendra Modi came to power:

- pogroms targeting religious minorities have multiplied. The Muslim community has been affected in two major incidents: in Muzzaffarnagar in 2013, shortly before the elections, the local BJP orchestrated a massacre in which 42 Muslims lost their lives, and in 2020, just a year after the re-election of the Modi II government, 36 Muslims were killed in another similar incident in Delhi. Christian communities have not been spared too: they have faced ongoing intimidation and acts of violence, such as the desecration of a church in a locality near Ranchi in the state of Jharkhand.

- Other nationalities besides Hindus have been harshly repressed, particularly Kashmiris, who now live under military occupation. In 2019, the former federal state of Jammu and Kashmir was downgraded to a "union territory," meaning it is directly administered by the central government. In June 2018, a United Nations human rights report highlighted serious human rights abuses, which were confirmed in a subsequent 2019 report. Over 47,000 deaths have been recorded over the past 20 years. But also the nationalities of the northeast, such as in Assam and Manipur, and the Tamils in the south.

In addition to the violent attacks against these minorities, Hindutva ideology, being the expression of the upper Brahmin caste, attacks Dalits (the so-called casteless), who number 65 million in India. The Hindu religion holds Dalits separate from the rest of society and therefore suffers forms of segregation.

Modi's India, approaching a theocracy rather than a modern state, is implementing discriminatory state policies against Dalits, who, like the aforementioned social groups, are victims of discrimination, violence, and murder.

Revolutionary Students’ Front (RSF) condemn the illegal, arbitrary, and undemocratic detention of Comrade Shouryadipta Sengupta,

We, the Revolutionary Students’ Front (RSF) strongly condemn the illegal, arbitrary, and undemocratic detention of Comrade Shouryadipta Sengupta, a political activist, by the Baruipur Police.

Yesterday (19/01/2026) he was picked up without any warrant, notice, or due legal procedure, physically assaulted, and subjected to intense mental harassment. This was not an act of law enforcement but a clear case of political intimidation aimed at suppressing dissent and terrorising those involved in mass movements. During his detention, Comrade Shouryadipta was repeatedly questioned about RSF and the ongoing statewide protests against SIR [Editor’s note: Special Intensive Revision , is a large-scale verification exercise to carry out a larger control of the Indian population]. The sole basis for this harassment was a Facebook post made by him supporting the call for a strike against the SIR hearings in Murshidabad. Expressing political opinion and supporting democratic protest is not a crime; criminalising it exposes the fascist nature of Trinamool Congress (TMC) government. It is important to note that, as is known till now, no case has been filed against Comrade Shouryadipta. This alone proves that his detention was completely illegal. After hours of harassment, he was dropped back home, and in an extremely coercive act, his ailing mother was forced to sign a paper stating that he was returned safely. This was nothing but an attempt by the police to manufacture consent and shield themselves from accountability.

The police have become mere uniform-wearing goons of the TMC. While the ruling party remains verbally opposed to SIR-NRC [Editor’s note: National Register of Citizens, a census portrayed by the old Indian State that could leave social and religious groups without rights and citizenship] to maintain a democratic mask, in practice its police machinery actively works to safeguard and facilitate the same project by suppressing resistance. It has also given land for two detention camps in Bongaon and Rajarhat. The targeting of Comrade Shouryadipta is a part of the larger attempt to silence political critique against SIR-NRC and intimidate organisations that refuse to compromise. SIR is actually a tool to snatch away the rights of the people, make them dependent on the government, and convert them into cheap laborers for the cause of imperialism. These attacks expose the importance of this greater fascistic conspiracy for the ruling classes of the Indian state.

The Revolutionary Students’ Front (RSF) unequivocally condemns this illegal detention, custodial violence, and harassment and holds the Baruipur Police and the state government fully responsible. We express complete solidarity with the call for a strike against the SIR hearings in Murshidabad and reaffirm our full support to the ongoing mass resistance against SIR-NRC across the country.

People’s war action in Chhattisgarh -ICSPWI info

a local representative of the burocratic bourgeoise eliminated

The proletarian justice reached a former sarpanch (the official head of power local body at village level representative of the State and directly linked to the gouvernment).

The identified person is Bhima Madkam a landowner of the Kaurgatta village in the Bijapour's Pamed region. Madkam came back to the village after a period of absence, probably thinking that he would be safe now in the eve of Operation Kagaar but finally, according to bourgeouis press, comrades of CPI (Maoist) reached and executed him.

Despite the Indian State propaganda claiming that People's War is near to a end, reactionaries are still not safe in Chhattisgarh in spite of the fact that around 60.000 paramilitary and soldiers from the Indian army are conductind a genicidal campaign in the area since more than two years.
