Comrade Maher
Al-Kuki was arrested and will compare at primary istance tribunal of
Beja in the same case concerning another comrade, Ghassan Bogdiri
that will be judged in the same tribunal today too.
Freedom for Maher
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Switzerland (Red
Faction) adheres to the joint international statement, "Let's Develop
the Revolutionary Struggle Against the Imperialist War Preparations!",
and wishes to be added to the list of signatories, with the following
reservation that it wishes to have published as a note to the statement:
"It is the position of the Communist Party of Switzerland (Red Faction)
that the principal contradiction in Ukraine today is between Russian
imperialism and the Ukrainian nation, although the inter-imperialist
contradiction plays an important secondary role. The Russo-Ukrainian War
should therefore not be understood principally as a proxy war between
two imperialist superpowers, but as Ukraine's war of national liberation
against the Russian war of aggression. The Kyiv regime currently wages
this war of national liberation due to it representing the pro-Western
faction of the Ukrainian big bourgeoisie, while the pro-Russian faction
supports capitulation to Russia, and Kyiv should be supported on this
basis. This is in no way different from the support given to the
Nationalist regime in China by Comrade Mao Zedong during the War of
Resistance Against Japan, when the pro-Japanese faction of the Chinese
big bourgeoisie, as represented by Wang Jingwei, capitulated to Japan,
and the pro-Western faction, as represented by Jiang Jieshi, resisted
Japan to a certain point. Mao pointed out:
"The Chinese big bourgeoisie, which is comprador in character, is a
class which directly serves imperialism and is fostered by it. Hence the
comprador Chinese big bourgeoisie has always been a target of the
revolution. However, different groups within this big bourgeoisie are
backed by different imperialist powers, so that when contradictions
among these powers become sharper and when the edge of the revolution is
mainly directed against a particular power, the big bourgeois groups
dependent upon the other powers may join the struggle against that
particular imperialist power to a certain extent and for a certain time.
At such times, in order to weaken the enemy and add to its own reserves,

Les critiques portent aussi sur le fait que ce sont les bâtiments construits, sur cette zone sismique, ces dernières années (et notamment les lotissements de l’autorité nationale de construction, la TOKI), étaient d’une qualité si médiocre qu’ils se sont effondrés comme des châteaux de cartes. La police turque a arrêté une douzaine de personnes depuis le tremblement de terre de lundi pour des publications, sur les réseaux sociaux, critiquant la manière dont le gouvernement a géré la catastrophe. Twitter était inaccessible mercredi et l’organisme de surveillance de la gouvernance de l’internet netblocks.org a souligné que l’accès à ce réseau social était restreint « via plusieurs fournisseurs d’accès Internet en Turquie ». L’état d’urgence a été proclamé dans 10 provinces.
Par ailleurs, les détenus de la prison de Hatay ont déclenché une émeute mercredi soir. Trois prisonniers sont morts et que 12 prisonniers ont été blessés dans la répression (photo). Des vidéos circulant sur les médias sociaux ont montré la brutalité dont les prisonniers ont été victimes et on entend un soldat dire « arrêtez de frapper, il y a des caméras. »
Selon la CGT, 2,5 millions de personnes ont manifesté samedi en France contre la réforme des retraites, dont 500 000 dans la capitale. Avec la quatrième journée d’action contre la réforme des retraites samedi, les syndicats espèrent se faire entendre enfin de l’exécutif, faute de quoi ils se disent prêts à « mettre la France à l’arrêt » le 7 mars. En province aussi, les cortèges ont rassemblé plus de monde que le 7 février. Il y a eu des affrontements à Rennes, Lyon, Nantes et Paris. 10 000 policiers et gendarmes étaient mobilisés, dont 4 500 dans la capitale. A Paris, les heurts ont commencé peu avant 15 h 30 quand un groupe de manifestants a tenté de partir en cortège sauvage en direction de la rue de Charonne. Après l’intervention des forces de l’ordre, les heurts se sont poursuivis sur le boulevard Voltaire, avec des feux de poubelles et de vélos électriques, des conteneurs à verre renversés et une voiture incendiée. Des abribus et des vitrines de banques, de compagnies d’assurances et d’un fast-food ont été pris pour cible. Le cortège de tête a été plusieurs fois chargé par les forces de l’ordre et noyé sous les gaz lacrymogènes. Au total, dix personnes ont été interpellées, selon un bilan donné à 18 h 30 par la police.
A Lyon, des heurts ont eu lieu entre le cortège de tête et forces de
l’ordre. Une banque Société Générale a été prise pour cible et saccagée
sur le cours Emile Zola ce qui a donné lieu à deux interpellations. Des
affrontements ont éclaté à l’arrivée du cortège au niveau de l’hôtel de
ville. Des incendies ont été déclenchés sur la place place Lazare
Goujon. Les CRS ont essuyé des jets de projectiles et de pétards et ont
tiré du gaz lacrymogène et mené des charges. Deux personnes ont été
interpellées portant le total à quatre ce samedi pour Lyon.
A Rennes (photo), les premiers heurts ont eu lieu boulevard Magenta. Les
affrontements ont ensuite éclatés devant les Galeries Lafayette alors
que les forces de l’ordre faisaient un usage massif de gaz lacrymogène
et d’un canon à eau au milieu des manifestants. Les forces de l’ordre
ensuite attaqué les manifestants place de la République avec l’usage du
canon à eau. Des manifestants se sont rassemblés en soirée place
Sainte-Anne où il y a eu de nouveaux heurts. Il y a eu 23 interpellation
à Rennes, selon la préfecture.
A Nantes, les affrontements ont commencé dès 16 h, cours des 50-Otages,
avec des échanges de tirs de lacrymogène et de mortiers d’artifice. Puis
les affrontements se sont concentrés en fin de manifestation, peu avant
17 heures, au pied du pont Anne-de-Bretagne. La police a effecxtué de
nouveaux tirs de gaz lacrymogène pour disperser les manifestants, qui
ont résisté pendant une heure. Des heurts ont encore eu lieu vers le
centre-ville. En soirée, la police avait interpellé huit personnes.

Dear comrades,
We support the main idea behind your declaration
that imperialists prepare a new world war between themselves and against
the peoples of the world and that communists must unite against this
war and struggle for revolution as the only alternative. You are right
to say that it is wrong to 'give support to one of the imperialist
factions, when they are all deadly enemies of the oppressed and
exploited of the world'.
However, we decided not to sign your
statement due to disagreement with how you dealt with the issue of
Russian imperialism. When reading your statement, it may seem that only
American imperialism and its allies are preparing the new world war. You
call Ukraine a puppet of American imperialism and never mention that on
February 24th Russia invaded its former colony to subjigate it to its
will and later annexed large parts of Ukrainian territory which it
occupied. Your statement is written in such a way, that it could be even
published in Russia legally! Because you accuse only USA and NATO and
thus give indirect support to Russian propaganda.
We consider
Russia and China as aggressive imperialist powers who want to re-divide
the world and seize a bigger share than it was allowed them before by
American imperialism which is still the strongest. In your statement,
you mention this only once and indirectly. You called Ukrainians
'mercenary armies', while it is exactly the Russian army which is
mercenary - people are lured there by promises of high salaries and the
private Prigozhin army even recruits convicts in the prisons promising
them parole. Prigozhin mercenaries are also involved in plundering
resources of African continent - the true students of European
imperialists!
The Maoists always condemned the
social-imperialism, they opposed Brezhnev's invasions in Chekhoslovakia
in 1968 and in Afganistan in 1979. What is happening in Ukraine today is
not much different from that. It was only the revisionists who
supported those aggressive wars and now they support Russia and fascist
Putin regime because Russia is supposedly not an imperialist! This is
not real anti-imperialism, they only mislead the people.
It is
sad that real communists do not have a common stand against imperialism
and wars of aggression and some support Russia like CPP does.
