Germany - solidarity with the political prisoners TKP/ML

Dr. Banu Büyükavcı, Dr. Sinan Aydın, and Sami Solmaz, three political prisoners who had been let out of prison after being arrested in an April 2015 raid for alleged affiliation with the Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist-Leninist (TKP/ML), were arrested again by German authorities on June 25 at one of the regular hearings that was conditional to their release.
The three were part of a group of ten that were captured during the 2015 joint German-Turkey state operation and were charged under the same law §§ 129b (“Support of a foreign terrorist organization”) that has been used against other revolutionaries, including Turkish activist Erdal Gökoğlu who was sentenced to five years in prison last week for his alleged association with the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front (in Turkish, Devrimci Halk Kurtuluş Partisi-Cephesi or DHKP-C).
In June 2016, eight of the ten arrested, including Büyükavcı, Aydın, and Solmaz, were released, while Deniz Pektaş and Müslüm Elma have remained in custody for over four years.
The three prisoners, who have refused to back off their revolutionary stance over the course of these court proceedings and continued to support revolutionary struggles through their activism in the Confederation of Turkish Workers in Europe (ATIK), are being punished by the German state through solitary confinement and not being allowed to speak to their lawyers or family.
Making revolution is not a crime, and Incendiary calls for the release of Büyükavcı, Aydın, and Solmaz, and all political prisoners targeted by the German state and their fascist Turkish accomplices! A demonstration will be held in Munich on July 8 in support of these revolutionaries, and we encourage all who are able to attend.
