Centenary of the Third Communist International celebrated in Dhaka

100 years ago, in 1919 Under the great leadership of comrade Lenin, the unity of the communist organizations the ‘Third Communist International’ was formed. Under the leadership of the ‘Third International’, the Communist ideology spreads worldwide. Many countries including China have revolution. In our subcontinent, the ‘Third Communist International’ plays a key role in spreading the message of Socialism-Communism.
A committee called ‘Third Communist International’s Centennial Celebration Committee’ was formed to highlight the contributions of the Third Communist International. The committee convened a discussion meeting at Shishu Kalyan Parishad Auditorium, 22/1 Topkhana Road, Dhaka on 15 November (Friday) at 4 pm. Various left-wing organizations and progressives gathered at the discussion. The convenor of the committee Comrade Hasan Fakri was chaired at the discussion meeting. Atif Anik, president of the Revolutionary Student-Youth Movement moderated the program.
The discussion begins with singing ‘Communist International’ music. Everyone in attendance joined the International singing. Addressing the meeting, Badal Shah Alam, editor of Khanan, Shaherin Arafat, progressive writer and editor of Mongoldhoni, energy researcher BD Rathatullah, convener of the Revolutionary Workers Movement, Biplob Bhattacharya, Marxist writer Anup Sadi, Marxist Thinker Shajahan Sarkar and President of Jatya Ganomancha Masud Khan. Saeed Bilash, Ashik Akbar and Zaki Sumon recited self-composed poems on the program.
Speakers addressed the cause of extinction of the Third International in terms of history. At the same time, it felt the need for a Fourth International formation to advance the Communist movement in today’s era. Speakers also highlighted the urge to unite communists worldwide.
