On the 1st of December
Grup Yorum was loudly echoing through the city center of Bremen, when
supporters of Grup Yorum again supported by German revolutionaries held a
joint manifestation with music and speeches in the spirit of
proletarian internationalism. On this occasion, the “Collective Red
Flag” stated:
“Since years our
comrades from Grup Yorum are being confronted with grim repression by
those who rule. As a voice of the Turkish people, they are a thorn in
the flesh of the Turkish reactionary state and are fought by severe
means. They are incarcerated into the dungeons of the old Turkish State
and are labeled terrorists and kept in isolation. Through cruel means
attempts are made to break them and their struggle. Currently the
comrades from Grup Yorum are on hunger strike again, to fight for their
just demands for freedom and justice against the Turkish state.”
December the 2nd
about 85 people gathered, some carrying torches, to join in a
manifestation with speeches and slogans that was accompanied by guitar
play of the tunes Grup Yorum and dancing. Posters and pictures depicting
those in jail were carried, demanding their immediate release. A call
was placed to recently released activist of the Anatolian Confederation
in Austria Hatime Azak who spend some month in detention in Germany,
after being taking on a warrant issued by Turkey.
