In Cologne, activists carried out powerful acts of civil disobedience against Germany’s war machine:
🔹 27.08 – Activists in rainbow-colored masks blocked a Bundeswehr recruitment site.
🔹 28.08 – Over 100 people blocked both entrances to the Deutz AG logistics center in Köln-Kalk for more than 8 hours.
🔹 Simultaneously, others blocked access to a Rheinmetall site in Köln-Bonn, while another group occupied the office of the political party SPD.
These coordinated actions exposed and embarrassed the German police, who had tried to prevent exactly this. Many now believe that the violent crackdown on the following day’s peaceful, city-approved parade was deliberate.
Police surrounded 100+ activists without cause, kettling them for over 9 hours. Medics reported hundreds injured, with several hospitalized, as police repeatedly dragged protesters out with excessive force.
