CM Misusing Public Money for Yagam, Alleges Varvara Rao
WARANGAL: Disapproving the rejection of bail to Prof GN Saibaba by the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court, revolutionary writer Varavara Rao has called upon people to condemn the decision. He also demanded the contempt of court notice served on social activist Arundhati Roy to be withdrawn. Addressing media persons at Press Club here on Saturday, Varavara Rao described the decision of the High Court bench as ‘atrocious’ and called upon people to condemn the same. Varavara Rao alleged that both the State and Central governments had started eliminating tribals and others who are working against the mining of minerals by the corporate companies.
“As they had launched the third phase of Green Hunt in Chattisgarh, more than hundred people have been killed in just one month. Chattisgarh is literally being bombed every day and people are killed in the name of encounters there,” Varavara Rao said. Accusing the Union government of threatening activists like Prof Saibaba and Arundhati Roy, he said, “The arrest of Saibaba is against all the international accords. We demand his release.” Referring to the ongoing Ayutha Chandi Yagam by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he accused the CM of misusing the official machinery and public money
