The Al Aqsa Flood Is The Harbinger for the End of US Imperialism

Statement of the ILPS on the Occasion of the Al Aqsa Flood Anniversary, 2026

The International League of Peoples’ Struggle joins the Palestinian people and all freedom loving people of the world in celebrating the third anniversary of the Al Aqsa Flood operation against the US-Zionist genocidal occupation. The Al Aqsa Flood not only ended any hopes for Arab-Zionist normalization across West Asia, but the sacrifices of the Palestinian people and its resistance has only steeled the resolve of countries and people’s movements fighting for national sovereignty and socialism against a weakening US imperialism.

The US-Zionist genocide against the Palestinian people continues into its third year now. Despite a ceasefire in writing declared on October 9, 2025, the Zionist entity has not kept any of its commitments and continues its ceaseless countless violations. In Gaza, ‘Israel’ has killed 1,422 Palestinians and wounded 4,996 since the ceasefire, bringing the total casualty rate to 74,016 with over 175,000 wounded since October 7th, 2023. Only 110 trucks of UN-coordinated humanitarian aid enter into Gaza daily (almost 1/6th of the agreed amount) and the Rafah Crossing is still closed. Moreover, ecocide of Gaza has made 98.5% of its land unusable due to toxic waste from Zionist bombardment and rubble, notwithstanding the complete destruction of sanitation systems, healthcare facilities, food production areas, and other vital infrastructure for life. There has been no withdrawal of the Zionist entity’s military occupation of Gaza, instead occupying up to 70% of the land. In the West Bank, settler violence has exponentially increased, with at least 1,100 killed since October 7th and the Knesset approving the plan to fully annex it. Meanwhile, the “Israeli” death penalty law for Palestinian prisoners has emerged as part of a Zionist final solution after failing to break the West Bank and Gaza.

Despite the devastating situation of both Gaza and the West Bank, the Palestinian resistance has refused to disarm and has successfully held onto their weapons and their unwavering support from the Palestinian masses. The uptick in assassinations and attempted assassinations of resistance leaders in the past weeks is proof of the occupation’s desperation and that the resistance is still intact.

The Trump ‘Board of Peace’, funded to a large extent by the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, promises to turn Gaza into “the Riviera of the Middle East,” with US special envoy and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner coldly referring to Gaza’s genocide as “a great business startup opportunity.” Yet, the project continues to stall as Trump and his family only seek to use it to fill their pockets and profit off Gaza’s reconstruction that the Zionist entity continues to hold back.

The resistance continues to hold true to its commitments to the latest ceasefire agreement and the US Board of Peace transition plan and dissolved the Hamas-run government of Gaza as a move towards the unity of a national Palestinian government, and recently announced an electoral bloc to run in Palestinian elections. This is despite the Zionists refusing to uphold any of their end of the ceasefire and transition plan, openly exposing their dastardly and continued genocidal intent to the whole world. The arming and encouragement of thousands of settlers in the past three years is part of this fascist escalation of the Zionist project, and proves why the Al Aqsa Flood was the only option for Palestinian liberation. With the ‘Israeli’ election about to take place, the sham Zionist ceasefire will continue to be unmasked, as Netanyahu’s only chance of staying in power is to keep his genocidal wars going.

As the Palestinian people continue their struggle for national liberation against US imperialism and Zionist reaction, they have inspired the whole world to rise and defeat imperialism and their local puppets once and for all. The Al Aqsa Flood reaffirmed the standard for resistance until victory. Across the region, from Palestine to Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, and Yemen, the Axis of Resistance has refused to put down their arms. Not only did the Al Aqsa Flood sharpen the Axis of Resistance’s struggle against US imperialism and the Zionist regime, it changed the whole balance of political forces in West Asia. US imperialism as a whole drew itself into a new series of crises as Iran and Yemen have asserted their sovereignty and control over the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab respectively due to US-Zionist aggression.

The US and Zionists have been unable to break the will of the resistance and the people. On the contrary, they have invigorated a global solidarity movement to end the genocide, break the siege, and crush US imperialism and Zionist reaction. This has translated into a massive growth and broadening of people’s movements and the rising isolation of the Zionist regime, now unmasked of its false “democracy and human rights” disguise. Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly was boycotted by 77 countries while thousands of protesters took to the streets outside.  There is a continued need and many possibilities through which to strengthen global solidarity and cooperation for the Palestinian people and for their just struggle for national liberation.

The Al Aqsa Flood, launched on October 7, 2023, stands as a beacon for nations and peoples’ movements around the world for how to genuinely resist the most brutal and genocidal manifestations of imperialism in the world today. On this third anniversary, the ILPS offers its full solidarity for Palestine’s struggle to free its people from Zionist occupation and genocide. We call on our members and global solidarity movement for Palestine to take inspiration from the Al Aqsa Flood in fighting back against imperialist occupation, sanctions, and siege all around the world.

Signed,
International League of Peoples' Struggle
