!Long Live People’s Resistance
A cultural night commemorating the Resistance Against the 15 Years of
War in Afghanistan

WHEN: September 17, Doors open at 6PM
WHERE: Beit Zatoun, 612 Markham St

It's been 15 long years since the imperialist occupation of
Afghanistan as the so-called ‘Global War on Terror’ began. But it has also been 15 long years of people’s active resistance against foreign invaders, including Canadian imperialism and ISIS. Coming from a strong legacy of struggle, Afghanistan is rich with ongoing revolutionary and grassroots movements that warrant our support here in Canada. In the spirit of internationalism, join us on September 17th as artists and cultural workers from different communities and activist traditions come together to express our international solidarity to the people of Afghanistan through anti-imperialist poetry, art and performances

Organized by the Stop the Imperialist War in Afghanistan Coalition, the cultural night aims to highlight the interconnectedness of our struggles of state-violence, racism, and systemic poverty to the struggles of oppressed nations abroad. This event is part of a build-up to a Day of Action on October 7th, 2016

We invite all groups and individuals who wish to get involved in the Stop the Imperialist War in Afghanistan Campaign or who would like to learn more about the history of Afghanistan and on-going resistance
