CANADA: Make Successful the International Day of Action on November 24 Against the “Prahaar” Military Campaign Operated by the Fascist Modi Government! (CWF(OC))
On the tail of Operation Greenhunt, the anti-farmer laws, and the discriminatory citizenship registry laws, comes another attack on the masses of India. The new attack is called Operation Prahaar-3, aimed directly at the People’s War in India as a special campaign against the so-called “threat to internal security”. India continues to face intensified political and economical crises. One example revealing this crisis is the fascist government’s mishandling of the pandemic, leading to almost half a million deaths according to official figures. Popular rebellions have multiplied at a massive scale across the country in recent years. With this in mind, Operation Prahaar-3 is an attempt by Hindutva fascism to regain control for the ruling classes by retaliating against the People’s War which is resurgent in many states throughout India, particularly in the central and north-eastern regions.
As Communists-in-formation in Canada, we affirm the call of the International Committee to Support the People’s War in India (ICSPWI) for an International Day of Action on November 24, as well as the Communist Party of India (Maoist)’s endorsement of this initiative. The latter statement is reproduced below with minor amendments for clarity. As the CPI(Maoist) writes in this statement:
“The Hindutva ruling forces are depicting the revolutionary movement let by the CPI(Maoist) as a threat to internal security. Actually, the fascist ruling clique of Modi and Amit Shaw are the real threat and most dangerous to the lives and property of the people of this country. The ruling clique is preparing to root out the revolutionary movement without solving the life-and-death problems of this country.”
The significance of November 24 chosen by the ICSPWI is that it marks the 10th anniversary of Comrade Kishenji’s assassination. Comrade Kishenji was a member of the CPI(Maoist)’s Central Committee and Central Military Commission. He was instrumental in spreading the People’s War through the state of Andhra Pradesh as well as developing guerrilla zones in Dandakaranya. As Comrade Kishenji rose through the ranks by showing his skillful leadership, he was placed in charge of uniting the scattered movement in West Bengal after the Naxalbari movement which happened there prior. Comrade Kishenji was elected to the Central Committee in 1994 and continued to serve on it with re-elections until his murder in 2011. He played a prominent role as a spokesperson for the Party and directed Party magazines and ideological-political education. We must learn from Comrade Kishenji as a shining example of how to apply our ideology in every aspect of our work with diligence and rigour.
