Freedom for political prisoners! Prisoners Voice Platform

We Protest the Turkish State’s Campaign of Detention Terror Against Socialists!

Release Our Conference Delegate and All Those Detained Immediately!

The campaign of detention and arrest terror carried out by fascism in Türkiye against socialists, opposition institutions, and individuals continues unabated. In the early hours of 3 February 2026 (today), coordinated operations were conducted in 22 cities, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Antalya. During these raids, the offices of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP), Socialist Women’s Assemblies (SKM), Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF), DİSK/LİMTER-İŞ Trade Union, BEKSAV Cultural Centre, Polen Ecology, Free Young Women, Law Office of the Oppressed, and Etkin News Agency (ETHA) were stormed and plundered, along with the homes of their employees. Laptops, computer hard drives, and other digital materials were confiscated. Approximately 100 socialists were taken into custody, including Uğur Ok, a delegate to the International Conference in Solidarity with Political Prisoners that we held in Paris on 20–21 December, as well as former political prisoners who spent decades in prison, human rights defenders standing in solidarity with prisoners, journalists, and the co-chairs and executives of ESP, SKM, SGDF, BEKSAV, and LİMTER-İŞ. Those detained are individuals who, despite all attacks and arrests, continue to organize workers and laborers in the struggle against fascism. They are the voices of resisting workers; of women and youth who refuse to submit to fascism; of environmental defenders fighting against the plunder of nature; of the Palestinian people subjected to genocide; of the Rojava Revolution, which is being strangled; and of all those who struggle for freedom — from India to the Philippines, from Iran to Europe — whose resistance they carry into the streets. They are former prisoners, relatives of prisoners, journalists, writers, publishers, ecologists, trade unionists, theater workers, musicians, lawyers, and human rights defenders. They are those who resolutely carry forward the struggle for revolution and socialism, and the struggle for freedom of the Kurdish people and all oppressed peoples. They are those who stand with political prisoners across the world and who strengthen internationalist struggle and solidarity. They are those who never retreat in the face of detentions and arrests, and who continue the legitimate and militant struggle against fascism, imperialism, and colonialism with determination. We strongly condemn this campaign of detention terror targeting socialists and demand their immediate release. We call on all revolutionary and democratic forces to stand in solidarity with our conference delegate and all detained socialists, and to protest these detention attacks through actions and press statements. Release the detained socialists immediately! Freedom for political prisoners! Prisoners Voice Platform
