NSG to hold international seminar on Counter IED strategy
The National Security Guard (NSG) will conduct a two-day
international seminar on ‘Counter IED Strategy’ in Manesar. The event
has been organised in the backdrop of increasing threat of Maoist
extremism. The seminar will be held between February 10 and 11 and would
be attended by national and international experts of police and armed
forces who will exchange expertise, ideas and experiences. Besides the
delegates from leading security agencies of the country, experts from
the US, Israel, France, Germany, Spain, Australia, Canada, Russia,
Japan, Singapore, Philippines and Vietnam will also attend the seminar.
Left-wing Extremism Major Issue Faced by Police: Ramesh
KOCHI: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said here on Saturday that
left-wing extremism was the major issue faced by the police in the
state. Chennithala was speaking at the statewide launch of ‘Anti-Human
Trafficking Clubs’ organised by the Kerala State Legal Service Authority
in association with Kerala Police. The state government is taking steps
to address the social issues behind the growth of left extremist
activities before using weapons on them.
