Naxal attack in Jharkhand: 2 Police jawans killed
Two Police jawans were killed in a gun-battle with the ultras of CPI Maoist at Kathardih forest located under Sunder Pahadi Police station area of Godda in Jharkhand. The incident spot is located on the bordering areas of Pakur-Dumka district of this state. The ADGP SN Pradhan has been sent from Ranchi to Godda for monitoring the situation.

 Maoist posters call for poll boycott
Jamui: Posters of CPI (Maoist) calling for election boycott in Jamui have not only alarmed the police and the home department but are also being seen as a warning to them for evolving fresh strategies to check the activities of the banned Naxal outfit during the the upcoming assembly poll in the state. The posters were spotted on welcome arches at Sono Chowk and Charka Patthar under Sono Block on Friday. The police have seized them. Most of the polling booths, including 259 in Jamui constituency, 281 in Sikandra (SC) assembly constituency, 293 (JhaJha) assembly constituency and 293 in Chakai assembly constituency out of 1,326 booths in Jamui district are vulnerable to Maoist violence. Jamui goes to the polls in the first-phase of electioneering on October 12, which will see 6,04,298 men and 5,20,744 women casting their votes.
“Majdoor, kisan, chhatra aur naujawan jaan gayei netaon kay chaal… humsab milkar karengay vote ka bahiskar…(labourers, farmers, students and youths have understood the games of politicians… and hence we will boycott the poll)”, read the posters asking people to abstain from voting. Another poster said, “Operation Green Hunt kay naam par nirdosh janata kay saath maar-peet, hatya, jail aadi daman chalanay walay neta ka aaj vote bahiskar karen…(let us stay away from the election of politicians who have subjected innocent people to assault, killing and imprisonment in the name of Operation Green-Hunt)”. Written in Hindi in red ink, the posters were in the name of the CPI (Maoist). A fortnight ago, similar posters had surfaced in Boutha, Musharat and and other villages under the Maheshwari panchayat of the district.

2 CRPF JAWANS HURT IN BASTAR’S IED BLAST
Two constables of para-military Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) sustained injuries in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Bastar region’s insurgency hotbed Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday, police said. The blast took place in restive Murdandha village falling in limits of Awapalli police station during morning hours, said Bijapur’s Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Indira Kalyan Elesela.

The injured CRPF constables were identified as Suresh and Abhay Pratap. According to ASP Bijapur, while undertaking anti-Naxal exercise in areas between Awapalli and Basaguda, the constable duo accidently stepped on a powerful IED planted by rebels to target security personnel. In the blast, the troopers suffered severe injuries and rushed to nearby hospital for treatment. The injured constables were airlifted to Raipur for advanced medical assistance.

Maoists blame govt policies, mining for abduction of TDP men
Five days after the abduction of three local TDP leaders in GK Veedhi, the CPI Maoist ‘East Division Secretary’ Kailasam today released a letter saying the “anti-people” policies of TDP government in Andhra Pradesh was responsible for it. Despite the protests against the bauxite mining in Vizag Agency, the TDP government was pushing mining at the cost of the livelihood of the tribals, the letter said.
The Naxals have also given Vizag Agency bandh call on October 12 and 13. TDP leaders Mamidi Balayya Padal, Vandalam Balayya and Mukkala Mahesh were kidnapped by rebels from GK Veedhi area of the district on Monday after they went to meet the Maoists following an invitation. District Collector N Yuvraj said the rebels so far had not made any specific demands for the release of three leaders, and the administration was doing everything to secure their release.

 Maoists kill special police officer Maharashtra
Shankar Wadde (30), working as Special Police Officer (SPO), was shot dead outside Mallumpodur village in Bhamragarh tehsil (revenue unit) in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra by cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) who had earlier abducted him on October 6 from his home, reports The Times of India on October 10.
