On March 28th, as part of the mobilization day for the National Conference of the International Anti-imperialist League in Brazil, a demonstration against “Operation Kagaar” and the fascist government of Narendra Modi, marched through the streets of Rio de Janeiro with more than a hundred participants. The banner leading the demonstration read: “Down with Operation Kagaar and the Surjakund Plan! Down with Hindutva Brahmanic fascism!”, A Nova Democracia (AND) reports.

The demonstration included workers from the Workers’ League (LO), a large delegation of peasants from the League of the Poor Peasants (LCP), along with students and intellectuals. Along the way to the designated area for the National Conference, powerful slogans could be heard through the streets, and a speech denouncing Operation Kagaar and defending the Indian Revolution was made by an AIL representative. Stops were also made outside of the imperialist monopoly Arcelor Mittal, where effigies of Narendra Modi and Donald Trump were burned, and also outside the US consulate, where the US and the Israeli flag were burned.
