The war of aggression, terror, and brutality waged by the bloodthirsty U.S. imperialism and its
regional partner Israel finally began on February 28, 2026, 62 days after the start of the first protests
in Iran (December 28, 2025). This offensive, carried out through massive rocket strikes and heavy
aerial bombardment, was launched under the joint operations “Lion’s Roar” and “Epic Roar.” These
combined attacks mark the beginning of a broad war of global character.
Bloodthirsty U.S. imperialism, the number-one enemy of the peoples of the world and the primary
source of international terrorism, which has left a dark record of cruelty, brutality, and the slaughter
of innocent peoples, has once again revealed its true face. Unrestrained and predatory U.S.
imperialism carries a history of atrocities: dropping atomic bombs on Japan, massacring millions of
freedom-loving people in Vietnam, using napalm in Vietnam, the blatant military invasion and
slaughter of defenseless Afghan people on October 7, 2001, the attack on Iraq in 2003, the invasion
of Syria and the installation of a compliant government, the arrest of the president of Venezuela and
the aerial bombardment of that country, unwavering support for Israel in the twelve-day war with
Iran and the destruction of its nuclear facilities, the massacre of people in various parts of the world…
and culminating in the February 28, 2026 attack on Iran. All of this demonstrates that no other
country has interfered in the internal affairs of other nations as extensively as bloodthirsty U.S.
imperialism. It has designed coups and counter-coups, overthrown elected governments by arming
undemocratic forces and encouraging them to engage in terrorist activities.
It is U.S. imperialism that monitors the peoples of the world and, through economic sanctions and
deliberately inducing hunger to the point of death for millions, coerces its opponents. It is the United
States that promotes and enforces racism everywhere.
The military attack on Iran clearly demonstrates that they seek to secure their military, political, and
economic foothold in this strategic region. They aim to maintain a strong presence in Central and
South Asia in order to effectively control the unstable conditions in these two regions to their
advantage. They want to display and further consolidate their brutal and coercive global dominance,
instilling terror among the oppressed masses. By exporting war and crisis beyond their impPage 2 of 2
fortresses, they aim to prevent uprisings among the masses and to suppress the spread of these
uprisings even within their own strongholds.
On the other hand, more than forty-seven years have passed since the establishment of the clerical
regime in Iran. During this period, the theocratic regime has spared no crime against the toiling
masses of Iran. The reactionary theocratic state has gunned down revolutionary, national, and
democratic forces, as well as the working masses and women who refused to submit to mandatory
veiling; in the most recent statistics reported through the media, approximately 36,500 people were
shot during the latest protests. The Islamic Republic is a fully theocratic and reactionary regime that
has massacred Iran’s revolutionary forces.
However, this does not mean that we support the punishment of Iran by the U.S. government or its
vicious dog, Israel. The punishment of such a reactionary regime should have been carried out by
the oppressed masses of Iran under the leadership of the proletariat and the vanguard party of the
proletariat. But due to the weakness of the leftist movement, this did not occur. As a result,
imperialism and its regional partner (Israel), pursuing their regional interests and hegemonic
ambitions, initiated their aggressive and brutal war.
The Communist (Maoist) Party of Afghanistan condemns this aggressive war by U.S. imperialists and
their regional partners in the strongest terms and is firmly determined, in close coordination with
other Maoist parties, to raise a unified global voice of protest against imperialist wars of aggression
and against the war machinery of the United States and Israel.
