India - Maoist poster at Cheruvathoor
CHERUVATHOOR: Throwing another surprise, pro-Maoist posters appeared on Cheruvathoor on Monday. The posters purportedly belonging to populist human rights organisation were found pasted on the walls found on the premises of the railway station and bus stand. The poster bore the heading “ ‘Nishabdatha maranamanu’ (Silence is death). The poster contained demands such as “Free Human Rights Activists” and “withdraw anti-people rules”. The poster also contained the photos of Jaison C Cooper and Advocate Thushar Nirmal. It is being pointed out that the poster are proof of the fact that Maoist presence are there in Cheruvathoor as well. Posters demanding the release of Jaison Cooper and Thushar Nirmal Sarathy had appeared on the hilly areas of Kannur district.
Posers were found in Peravoor, Manathana, Kelakam, Neendunokki towns. A few auto-rickshaw drivers who had come to notice a stranger pasting posters on Sunday, informed the police about it. But he soon disappeared from the scene. In a multi-cloured poster there was also demand for withdrawing UAPA and another one had information on Varghese martyr’s day that is going to held on February 18.
