On
behalf the Party Red in Norway the following protest note was sent to the Indian
prime minister's office, with a copy to RDF:
The Party Red, Norway, demands the immediate release
of Prof Dr GN Saibaba and Jeevan
Chandra
The Party Red, Norway, condemns the abduction of Prof. Dr
GN Saibaba, Joint Secretary of the Revolutionary Democratic Front (RDF), on May
9th in Delhi by policemen of Maharashtra.
We also condemn the abduction and detention of another
RDF officer, President of the RDF in Uttarakhan, Jevan Chandra, on May
5th .
Dr Saibaba is an outspoken critic of the violation of
democratic and social rights following the neoliberal politics of the Indian
regime. He also has critized strongly the military actions upon the people
supporting the rights of the adivasis in Central India. Also from Scandinavia we
have experiences that the Indian regime are striking hard against such critics,
several persons beeing denied to visit India.
This acts upon Dr Saibaba follows earlier harrassments
against him. In September 2013 his home was raided by police with the lame
excuse of going after stolen property, confiscated his belongings.
This days India is proclaiming adherence to democracy,
concluding her National elections. To prolong the harrasment and detentions of
Dr Saibaba and Jeevan Chandra would contrast this picture of India. The Party
Red, Norway, expects the immediate release of them.
