INDIA – Activities of the CPI(maoist) during the protest week against „Operation Samadhan“

The Communist Party of India(maoist) has called for a protest week against the reactionary „Operation Samadhan“ from 25th until 31 of January. This „Operation Samadhan“ is directed against the communist party and the revolutionary movement. In the protest week the Maoists have given a call for Bharat Bandh on Thursday.

Therefore the reactionary officials of the hindu-fascist indian state and the police called up for special security measures in several districts. They provided security at the famous dams, bridges, railway stations, film theatres, congested places and other public places. “As precautionary measures, police have provided heavy forces at Kaaleswaram Mahadevapur, Palimela, Kannayigudem, Vaajedu, Venkatapuram, Eturunaagaram, Mangapet and Tadvai mandals in Jayashanker Bhupalpally district,’’ senior police officials said. “We have provided additional forces including para military staff at the prestigious — Kaaleswaram project based on intelligence inputs on possible threats from Maoist party cadre.” The Greyhounds teams and special police forces have intensified combing operation in the more than six Maoist-affected districts.

In Odisha during the Bharat Bandh the revolutionaries blocked roads in some places by cutting down trees. They put up posters and leaflets to call up the people for supporting the bandh call. In other places they blocked roads and also put up posters in the villages. In three districts of South Odisha have been activities of the protest week. In the districts Phulbani/Malkangiri and Kalahandi a 12-hours Bharat Bandh fallowed the blocking activities. There were put up posters opposing Operation Green Hunt.
In the beginning of the protest week, on 25th of January, the revolutionaries held several meetings with the villagers in the districts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand.
