in a letter released by its official spokesperson, Comrade Abhay, on Friday, the Maoist party alleged that the police had arrested Central Committee member and Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee secretary Madvi Hidma, his wife M. Raja, and several others, and shot them dead.
Comrade Abhay alleged that the Andhra Pradesh state police had picked up Hidma, Raja, ‘Tech’ Shankar, and other Maoists in Vijayawada on November 15.
“The Special Investigation Branch (SIB) police had taken the Maoist leaders into custody when they visited Vijayawada on November 15 for treatment. Later, the police killed the Maoists and projected them as encounters,” Comrade Abhay alleged, and appealed to the public for observance of a black day on November 23 in protest against the “fake encounters.”
